  1. Here you go. Install to SLE with Kextwizard.

These should be working with this kext.:

    Internal speaker

    Headphone

    Mic

Jake Lo, I have tried the AppleHDAALC.kext, I have the devices and internal speaker and headphones work fine. I did not try Mic and Line In. Thank you again.

BTW, I had some trouble booting the laptop, after boot the screen faded to nothing. I tried closing and opening the lid, closing the lid until sleep and then open again, using the FN+up button, none worked, Random key presses revealed that FN+Insert increases the brightness....

  2. The patches have comment "AppleHDA ALC 292 #1" also 2 and 3, therefore I will keep them. In Preferences the only option for sound output is "Internal Speakers". I appreciate if you provided the AppleHDA version you are using. Thank you again.

  3. Remove the salamaahm's patch and remove IntelGFX = 0x04128086 to FakeID and add install the kexts from here and here to SLE.

Just tested on Clover with Yosemite 10.10.2

I have kept the clover Graphics {InjectIntel=true and ig-platform-id=0x0a260006} and it works great!!!! Thanks a million Jake Lo!!!

On a different subject, for AppleHDA did you use the clover patching mechanism? I have 3 entries for KextsToPatch in my AppleHDA, and I suspect I do not really need them.

  4. Jake Lo,

thank you for your guidance. I did as you described and still I have the following issues:

    - after boot artifacts (apple sliced in many instances)

    - after login flickers (screen redrawing fast but very obvious)

    - menu bar on top is not transparent

    - dock is not transparent

    - google chrome flickers on every keypress

    - launchpad  + win key animation is not smooth

(attached is the config.plist file that was used)

The steps you propose in your post are very similar to what is proposed here:  http://www.tonycrapx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/145427-fix-intel-hd4200-hd4400-hd4600-mobile-yosemite.html

The only difference is that the two Kexts FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_HD4600_HD4400.kext are installed. I tried this too, there is transparency on the menu and in the dock, but there are artifacts on the windows (that are fixed after scrolling) I have not tested this thoroughly...

Nevertheless, I prefer salamaahm's solution than the FakePCIID kext solution, I believe it is a clearer solution - if it will work for me.

    Thank you

    config.plist.zip

  5. If you run 10.10.2, are using clover and have fixed the QE/CI issue of 4400 applying the kexts of Jake Lo or the patch of salamaanm, could you please let me know in clover Graphics if you have Inject Intel and the value of ig-platform-id.

I see that the patch of salamaanm is replacing in the kext files the Device ID of HD4600 that is supported in Azul framebuffer and the 5000 Graphics kext with the Device ID of HD4400 (I guess because both are hardware compatible). Therefore I understand we should not be injecting or faking ID, the driver will pick the hardware up (As I said I am not an expert on osx, correct me if I am wrong).

In my case when I as running 10.10.1 I had in Clover the option Inject Intel and ig-platform-id of the HD4600 so that Azul and 5000.kext will pick it up. After uprade to 10.10.2 and patching the Azul and 5000Kext it does not work. Also after removing Clover option Inject Intel and ig-platform-id it is not working. Also injecting the correct ID of 4400 it is not working. I see in boot log

    1:251  0:000  PCI (00|00:02.00) : 8086 0A16 class=030000
    1:251  0:000  Found GFX model=Intel HD Graphics 4400
but still the patched 5000.kext is not loading and QE/CI is not working. Any suggestion is appreciated...
    Thank you
  6. Thank you Jake Lo for your response, still no QE/CI. I removed the two entries from config.plist, reinstalled the two kexts AppleIntelFramebufferAzul and AppleIntelHD5000Graphics from file E7x40.zip at your post https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7478-dell-latitude-yosemite-install-guide/&do=findComment&comment=45224, fixed permissions and rebuilt cache. Still not QE/CI.

Is there another step I need to perform? I did not patch the kernel or install the other 3 kexts of file E7x40.zip.

I even recovered IOGraphicsFamily, AppleIntelFramebufferAzul and AppleIntelHD5000Graphics from 10.10.2 update (using pacifist), added to clover salamaahm’s patch and still no luck .

  7. you have to patch the 2 files as mentioned by salamaahm above. Add the above to your clover config.

I have to manually patch AppleIntelFramebufferAzul & AppleIntelHD5000Graphics since I'm using Chameleon.

You can get the updated kext in my Yosemite Guide including AppleHDA.

I was happy with QE/CI in versions until 10.10.1 (including). Yestereday I tried to upgrade to 10.10.2.

First I added the text mentioned by salamaahm in EFI partition /CLOVER/config.plist section editing the file with TextEdit. Confirmed using the Clover Configurator that the file is correctly parsed importing the mentioned file and checking the section "Kernel and Kext Patches" / "Kexts to patch" the entries are there.

Then run the 10.10.2 update file I downloaded.

The QE/CI was not working. Then I realised that my AppleIntelFramebufferAzul was patched in 10.10.1. To resolve this I downloaded the files indicated in More Yosemite Bootpacks

    https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7478-dell-latitude-yosemite-install-guide/&do=findComment&comment=45224the 2 kext files in E7x40.zip  AppleIntelFramebufferAzul & AppleIntelHD5000Graphics.
Still the problem is there QE/CI is not working.

Archive.zip are the files you might find useful in your suggestion, because I run out of ideas (I am not that knowledgeable in this subject). The attached files were created using
    TS=$(date +%Y-%m-%d_%H-%M)
    F=~/Desktop/log_$TS
    echo $F
    mkdir $F
    ls -l /System/Library/Extensions/ > $F/kexts_in_SLE.txt
    kextstat > $F/kexts_stat.txt
    system_profiler SPExtensionsDataType > $F/kexts_datatype.txt

    Thank you
  8. To summarize my issues are:

    - after wakeup from sleep the sound is not working

    - the video hardware acceleration is not working

    - I have some reboots connecting some USB sticks

My HW is 7440 with FHD (no touch). I have installed ML 10.9.4. BIOS was A05, now is A10, audio after wakeup is still an issue, video acceleration still an issue. Disabled USB3 controller from bios and usb sticks seem to work without an issue.

The video hardware acceleration is a known issue see https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6092-latitude-e7440/page-3&do=findComment&comment=40857

Thank you all for your excellent work!!!!

    EDIT:

After installing MacOS10.9.2 the I had video acceleration working... Also installing EAPDFix_v1.7.1 got audio after sleep working...
