  2. You had the kexts before, you listed them in your previous posts. Don't use EDP, it appears you'll screw up your D830 again.

yeah i dont know where the kexts came from or how i got them

ok so far no black screens except if i close the lid and open it back later i have to turn it off and back on again and i also have sluggishness when watching youtube or the like and i was not like that before

  3. To get rid of NullCPUPowerManagement, simply remove it from /Extra/Extensions and run myFix (quick) as suggested and confirmed in posts #21 and #22.

You can also try my edited DSDT by placing it in /Extra under the name of say DSDT_new.aml. You can then safely test it by calling on the file at bootloader prompt by typing: DSDT=/Extra/DSDT_new.aml. Once you're happy that it works, you can delete the old one and rename the new one into DSDT.aml. The DSDT will most defintely fix your black screen issue.

I don't know what you were trying re: audio but it's a simple matter of using VoodooHDA + AppleHDADisabler kexts. You had them initially, there was nothing wrong there.

If you can only boot  into safe mode, you won't be able to run myHack/myFix app. However, you can manuall call myFix from Terminal using the command myfix -qt /.

well i went ahead and fully erased the hdd and started over, however i did get stuck during install where it kept going back and forth between less than a minute and about a minute left and it did that for about 2 hours and finally it started moving and finished but it said the install failed but i was able to reboot into it anyway.

so i went ahead and applied your fixes and while myfix was running i got a black screen and had to shut down and am not sure if that fixed it or not, still waiting to see, i also unhooked my bluetooth module and that seemed to help the install some, not sure what model it was or if it was giving it issues but i will take it out later and post the model

EDIT forgot to add i do not have audio, where do i get the kexts for that or should i use EDP for that?

  4. Why do you use NullCPUPowerManagement? That defeats the purpose of having P&C States activated in your boot plist, the MBP5,1 profile and the tune FakeSMC... Get rid of it.

In addition, on checking your DSDT, it turns out it has an incorrect configuration of the GPU section... Where did you get this DSDT? Here's a correct version:

    attachicon.gifDSDT_D830_NVS-140M.aml.zip

i did not edit the dsdt, all i did was use a virtual machine and a 10.9 dmg i downloaded and created a myhack install with the downloaded pack for the d830

EDIT how do i get rid of NullCPUPowerManagement?

also everything is stock from a normal install, i did not even run EDP at all or tweaked anything

EDIT 2 i forgot to add i was trying to fix the audio and now can no longer boot into normal mode only safe mode, i will just do i full erase and reinstall using the files posted here and see how far that gets me

i think this is what is causing me to not boot into normal mode

  5. Never had that problem before, so can't comment. Screen sleep is normally cancelled by mouse or keyboard, not computer sleep of course, for which you have to press the On/Off button; But you'll know that the computer  has gone to sleep if the On/Off LED fades in and out.

Yeah it was not asleep I'm wondering I might be using the wrong USB drive or something

  6. That's what your ought to do with kexts, yes.

D830n is for D830 nVidia... Just a reference really.

Awesome I haven't done the kexts yet but will tonight, will they fix the issue of the screen going off and not being able to wake it up by moving the mouse or using the keyboard? That same issue came up during reinstall and it had been sitting there for two hours before that with 7 minutes remaining not moving at all so I had to shut down and it still booted

  7. ok so i ran the install over my old install and i am back up and running, now to make sure i do this correctly i place the kexts above into /E/E and run myhack and select myfix and that will install them correct?

edit forgot to ask why is the folder name for the kexts above called D830n?

  8. Your system was running fine until you did some EDP tuning, after which, it got screwed for whatever reason. With a fresh install, you'll be Ok again. EDP appears to systematically screw all D Series since the revamp of last summer, presumably because some of the critical kexts are incorrect. I strongly suggest you don't use it for the time being.

I've provided you with the files required for the performance tuning, use them. The rest should be standard installation with myHack + bootpack (assuming that one is not screwed up either).

Will do it tonight and report back tomorrow

  9. if your booting in -s single user mode then you do not need to put sudo infront of the command.

i dont think that works when booting to usb does it? either way i have to do a full reinstall cause of not being able to boot in normal mode or safe mode

EDIT question is this the same as my issue?

    https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7548-ga-z97x-ud5h-i5-4460-clover-yosemite-kernel-panic-unable-to-find-diver-for-this-platform-acpi/

  10. When you boot your USB installer, the shell path variable may not contain the link to /usr/bin where sudo exec is found. You could therefore try:

    /usr/bin/sudo cp -R ...

    or

    /Volumes/D830/usr/bin/sudo cp -R ...

For the Chameleon boot plist, you need to use the command cat /Volumes/D830/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist

    .

    tried that and i get

sudo: unable to stat /etc/sudoers: No such file or directory

sudo: no valid sudoers sources found, quitting

    edit here is the plist

    IMG_05051.jpg

  11. The command seems to go through the tree structure; however, you have a rights issue, hence the error messages so the sudo prefix does most definitely appear required.

If still not going anywhere, can you reach the /Extra/Extensions folder of your Mav HDD and list the kexts in there? Could you also use detail the contents of the Chameleon boot plist through the type command?

yup heres the screenshot as for the plist what commands do i need to user? i havent dont cmdline in a number of years and even then it was linux

    IMG_05041.jpg

  12.

If you can boot the USB installer and access Terminal, you can still make a copy of your HDD's /Extra to your USB key.

From Terminal, use df command to obtain the name of the HDD Mavericks partition, then use command cp -R /Volumes//Extra /Extra_BAK. You may need to add sudo in front of the cp command. You'll then have a folder called Extra_BAK at the root of your USB installer. Zip it and post it here.

when i try to use sudo it says no command and when i try to copy it acts like there are no files to copy

Edit here's a couple of screenshots

  13. Which version of Chameleon do you currently use? Please post your compressed /Extra folder.

i cannot currently boot in normal mode or safe mode and only have access to usb with terminal as for chameleon its whatever gets installed which is svn 2266 or something like that

  14. Use the attached pack. The kext goes to /Extra/Extensions, the plist files to /Extra and the HWMonitor app to /Applications. Run myFix (quick) to install the kext. You may adjust the GraphicsMode of the boot plist to your own LCD resolution if you want.

    D830n_tuning.zip

Also ensure that IDA is not enabled in BIOS (necessary if running on a Merom CPU, which the T7800 is).

In terms of kexts in /E/E, all you really should have is:

    AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext

    AppleHDADisabler.kext

    ApplePS2Controller.kext

    BCM5722D.kext

    FakeSMC.kext

    Patched_10.7_AppleRTC.kext

    VoodooBattery.kext

    VoodooHDA.kext

    lspcidrv.kext

Ok did that and now I get the followingpost-65401-14227481557142.jpg

  15. Hey everyone I have a dell latitude d830 with the following specs

    Model:Dell Latitude D830

    CPU:I believe it to be a T7800 but I am using cup-x 2.60ghz

    Video:nvidia quadro 140m I think 256mb

    Ram:4gig

    Hdd:128gb ssd

Everything was working ok at first but I needed to do the preformance tuning so I installed fake smc from edp and whatever the other one is called from chameleon wizard and I may have chose the wrong one cause now when I boot I get a black screen and have to shut it down to get it to work sometimes a couple of times.

I also noticed since I did this that the cpu does not show change of speed in about Mac like it did before and if it were to go to sleep or turn off the screen or hdd I can't bring it back p without shutting the whole thing down,

Other than those issues everything is running great I just need to fix those any help would be great
