Thank you for the effort, but it's still not working. I still get flicker in Chrome, and now I have a solid  white loading bar on the second stage of boot. What else could it be?

Herve, No sir. 4400HD. I've tried everything you've mentioned in other posts, and still no joy. Here are the files. I pulled what "private" info I could from the config. thank you so very much in advance.

I have an e5540 i5. I can't seem to get the QE/CI working worth a darn, or if it is, it's not showing the translucent menu and dock. No glitching on the second stage of loading. Battery and audio are intermittent on boots. I'm getting very frusterated. It worked perfectly on 10.10.1, now after I updated to 10.10.5, no gfx accel. If I can't get this working, can I just disable the intel gfx, and go with the geforce? 

Which Kernel do I need for the install and boot? I have a haswell i5
