Try this guide.. it worked for me. https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7914-dell-latitude-e6220-with-i5-2520m-hd3000-and-1366x768-lcd-mavericksyosemiteel-capitansierra/&do=findComment&comment=64438
Just make sure to omit the sdst.aml, unless you have the same processor as the person who made the guide.
Also if you have the full HD screen, you will need to do the dual link dsdt patch. -
Thank you, I believe everything is working now, other than wifi but thats not gonna work (intel centrino). What's the best way to generate the sdst.aml?
Edit: actually, no. My F keys aren't working it seems, and the whole ctrl, windows key, and alt key are kinda screwed up.Edit 2: Closing the lid for sleep isnt working either.

DSDT is fine if you have layout-id set to 12 (0x0C).
Did you install the patched AppleHDA to /S/L/E?
Yeah I'm not the brightest with this stuff, how would I do that? And yes, I did patch the applehda, as sound was working before I used my own dsdt.
-
Your smbio.plist is wrong and org.chameleon.boot.plist is incomplete.
Replace with these, taken from Hervé bootpack.
I got everything installed, but apon making my new dsdt and patching for dual link, everything works, except I no longer have sound. What do I need to patch in my dsdt to get sound back?

OK I remade the flash drive and now I've actually gotten into the installer.. except for this.
Edit: after some finagling with switching displays and plugging and unplugging hdmi, I got it to appear, but now I have no utlities menu
Edit 2: After dicking around some more I got it to load, and the installation is occuring right now.. will update on status. -
Now I'm getting this.

Here it is.. and sorry for getting mildly angry.

I'm using enoch. What should i upload?
-
Well thanks for the help guys.. I'm still where i was last week this time..

Good news.. kinda.. I got a lot further this time. I followed your guide Herve, minus the ssdt.aml. Now i'm getting stuck here.

KP due to vanilla AICPUPM kext... If you use Clover, enable the AsusAICPUPM patch. If you use Enoch, you should either use NullCPUPM kext or the pre-patched AICPUPM kext. You may refer to my E6220 guide (and pack).
I'll try that but I just wanna ask, is the ssdt required for boot of the installer? Or can that be done afterwards

I had to remake the flash drive cause I messed it up, and now im further back.. no idea what i did. I followed the guide in the first post. I'm close to just saying screw this.

I know its the latest, whatever was in 2016, just updated it a month or so ago unrelated to this. Maybe I could try taking the trac pad driver out for now, to see if thats the problem.
Edit: This is what I have before the garbled text after removing the tracpad kext.

I followed the guide from here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/9383-dell-e6220-i7-2620m-clover-detailed-guide/
My E6420 is the HD 3000, i7 2620m, 900p screen version.
I can not for the life of me get past the dreaded still waiting for root device. I have made sure all my bios settings match the ones that are linked in the guide to no effect.
I'm using a OS X Yosemite VM in VMWare workstation 12 on Windows 10 but that shouldn't matter too much, should it?
I have tried boot flags such as -v -x, -v -x -s, those kind of things.
