Also the buttons have an insert (which  i assume is clear plastic) which could be illuminated, if not why have the inserts?

I was assuming they would light up when pressed like the on/off button and the battery icons around the border of the keypad?

Just bought a second hand Lattitude E5520 i5 and just want to know something that is NOT technical...... should the three volume buttons be illuminated when in use?
