Hi - Latest update, forced GraphicsEnabler=Yes with -f -v and got to the Country selection screen.  That graphics setting is in the Extra/org....plist so don't understand why it didn't work before.  Now logged in but no sound and no network so can't load EDP.

 

Resolution is 1600x1200.  How would I know the correct DSDT ?  I downloaded the Intel hi-res bootpack for the D830...

 

So next challenge is network & sound...post install...

Hi using the OSXL bootpack with MyHack, following the guide to the letter (I think).  Now installed OK but I have Whitescreen & cursor on 1st boot...

Hi - bizarre, double checked bootpack & bios. On the off-chance I set SATA mode from AHCI to ATA and Disk utilities recognised the drive. I can only assume that the bios image has the bit setting reversed or I might need to flip it back to AHCI when I boot from it. Currently installing so I'll find out in half an hour. Thx again for the feedback.

Bios settings checked with D8xx section (Just updated to A17 to see if that might help).

Still at a loss if no Kexts are needed to see the SATA drive.

Hi, apologies if this is repeated elsewhere and I haven't seen the answer.

Created a few OSX PCs before so understand the basics.

Have D830 with Intel Crestline so installing Lion using the guide here with USB.

Get to the install screen and Disk utility doesn't see the hard drive (Chameleon sees it on boot)

I've tried with the original Tosh 80GB SATA drive and an OCZ SSD, neither of them are visible.

Yosemite USB installer disk utility sees them but want the graphics support.

 

What kext(s) do I need to load suitable SATA drivers or am I missing something? I was expecting it to work straight away with the Bootpack so stuck for the moment...
