  1. I upgraded my E6420 hackintosh to High Sierra and I immediately noticed that I'm no longer able to boot from the secondary drive bay. I usually have my Windows drive attached to the primary SATA port and have one of the drive adapters that lets me install a second hard drive in leu of the optical drive. I had my macOS installed there so I can dual boot between the two.

    With High Sierra that no longer works. When I try to boot macOS from the secondary port it KP's and is garbled so I can't read what it says. When the drives are switched around macOS boots and recognizes another drive is there but complains that it's having trouble reading it. I can boot Windows from the secondary port just fine so it's not a sudden hardware failure.

    It sounds like I might need to modify my DSDT but I wouldn't have the slightest clue what I need to do. I know High Sierra is still really new but any ideas?

  2. I have one of these cards working on a Latitude E6420. I was wondering if you ever got Handoff/Continuity working? On my system they show the BT is capable of those functions but nothing happens when I try to do the Universal Clipboard. Other functions work fine like Airdrop. What I really would like to get working is the Apple Watch unlocking but it says that it cannot communicate with it.

    I decided to order a AW-CB160H/BCM94360HMB that will come next week but the U.FL to MHF4 adapter cables are shipping from China so they won't be here for a while. I'm hoping it will fix my Continuity issues but I thought I'd still try to troubleshoot my current card until then.

  3. Yeah, this is the first time I've ever gotten the Clover kext patches to work with AppleHDA on this system. Not sure why they're all of a sudden working. But They are. I only have the three patches I listed enabled. I have the 8319D411 in my config.plist but I have it disabled.

  4. I just downloaded it from the App Store and ran the install.

    I discovered that I first had to install the latest Clover. I tried running the install but when it rebooted the Installer partition wasn't available for boot. After updating Clover it booted fine until I encountered the VoodooPS2 error. It went by so quick I had to take a picture with my phone to see what it said.

    I did actually fix my audio problem. Previously I hadn't been able to get the Clover kext patches to work to fix audio so I was actually using a patched AppleHDA.kext. This time I seem to have found the right combination of patches. And there's also an additional patch that has to be applied for 10.12. Here are the patches I have, all are for AppleHDA:

    8B19D411 => E7761D11

    8419D411 => 00000000

    8A19D411 => 00000000

    And then install the DummyHDA.kext.

    So now all I have to to is figure out how to get the touchpad working.

    I found the only other caveats are that the volume and mute buttons are not yet working and the caps lock doesn't function reliably with the new VoodooPS2.

  5. Upgraded my E6420 to Sierra. Got my BCM94352 working after some difficulties. For some reason Clover's FakeID is not working and had to switch to the FakeID kexts.

    One of the problems I ran into while upgrading is that the VoodooPS2Controller.kext needed to be updated. Was getting a panic on it. That resulted in the touchpad ceasing to function. That and I need to figure out how to get the audio working again.

    Other than the trackpad and audio I have a functioning system. Fortunately Bluetooth never stopped working and I have a Magic Mouse until I can get the trackpad working again.

  6. Ok, on my E6420 I replaced the VoodooPS2Controller.kext with the latest version from RehabMan's repository. As expected the touchpad no longer works. However, I now have a new problem. Now if I boot without cpus=1 it hibernates during boot after the first part of the booting progress bar. Very weird.

  7. Thank you. The bootpack seems to have worked to get the USB ports working.

    I had actually managed to finally get an install. When I ordered this laptop I also ordered a tray for a second hard drive. By putting the installer on the second SATA drive rather than USB I was able to complete the installation. The bootpack seems to have also cleaned up problems I was previously having.

    The only problem I seem to have now is that I can only boot by adding cpus=1 to the boot arguments. How can I get around that?

  8. I recently bought a refurbished E6420. I've been trying to get El Capitan installed on it without success. Yosemite will install and run fine. It seems to be an issue with the USB port restrictions in El Capitan. When it starts to boot I get the "still waiting for root device" message and then it stops.

    I previously had upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan but now when I try to do the upgrade to 10.11.4 it gets almost all the way through and gets an error and says the upgrade failed.

    Currently using the OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config/config_HD3000_1366x768.plist from RehabMan. Boots fine without video corruption with Intel injection. I think I just need to get the USB injection working but I have no idea how to get it working.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
