  1. Did you make sure that InjectIntel = True? These are the two thing that got me past it. Im very green to this whole Hackintosh scene so i know very little. But, i will say doing that and then after install sticking to the Guide and then opening Clover Configurator and Saving the injected to 1616002 so that each boot the kernel panic stays resolved.

    - Hope this helps.

  2. Thanks cptscruffy2.

I figured it out. I need to enable both

    Remaps Brightness Keys

    Remaps Volume Keys

    Now both Fn+F1, Fn+F2, Fn+F3, F1, F2, and F3 works with volume control

Brightness controls with F11 and F12, and F6 dims

Did you update the guide to reflect these changes to the private.xml? If not i would be greatly appreciative to get my hands on this version of the private.xml file.

  3. Thanks to tluck on the other site. Use the following command to revert the root volume to a regular volume.

    sudo diskutil corestorage revert /

Now the virtual disk is gone. And I have the good ol' physical disk.

This makes Clover installer installs directly into the EFI partition and overwrites only the parts one selected in the installer. No more manual copy afterwards. And only ONE /EFI to maintain.  :P

BTW, they just publish a newer version of Clover over at sourceforge.

This was my next issue! Thank you so much for the post and the help.

  4. Yes! My mouse issues are resolved by using the latest Clover and Redoing the permissions and caches. Seems that i have intel time to go by a usb wifi dongle. I cannot seem to find the exact card within OS X. But, the ethernet it intel so i assume its the same for the WIFI.

  5. I finally got it to boot into the Install OS X El Capitan Drive. But, now the trackpad doesn't work but the "dot mouse thingy" <- (sorry don't know the technical name) is working kinda. It sporadic and jumps all around and really isn't useable. But, i goes a USB Mouse is the solution until installation is done.

How i Got Lucky and Got it To Work:

    1. Used the USB EFI from Windows from these steps

"5) Format a USB drive to fat32 and create a folder name EFI (SD Card works too)

    6) Download the EFI Shell and extract the Boot folder to EFI folder"

    2. Booted to it and Changed them again. Then reconfirmed them using setup_var 0x15b / setup_var 0x15c

    3. Then typed reboot into grub prompt

    4. Then Pressed F2 At boot

    5. Then Clicked Load Defaults

    6. Then Clicked Sata Operations -> AHCI

    7. Then Verified Safe Boot was disabled and Enable Legacy Option Rom was Checked

    8. Booted into Clover changed the Option for CPU Type to InjectIntel = True and ig-platform-id =16160002

    9. Went to UEFI X64 Shell Re-Verified the setup_var(s) and tried to change them again to make sure

    10. Typed Exit

    11. Then Clicked Install OS X El Capitan

So after i get a USB Mouse to fix -> What would someone recommend to fix the trackpad and "mouse thingy"

  6. Hello OSX Latitude Forum,

I have the Dell Latitude E7450 as well and have been for past two days following the guide Jake Lo has written with the updates but keep getting a kernal panic.

I am hoping for some help it would be greatly appreciated.

    Questions:

    1. "rename it as EFI to the root of the “EFI†partition, replacing the existing folder ( not merge)" <- From Jake Lo's guide does this imply to delete the EFI folder with all the following directories; (ACPI, BOOT, CLOVER, KEXTS, etc...)

          A. When i do this btw it doesnt even boot from the USB.

          B. But, when i overwrite the files from the 7450_Update.zip file i get it to boot fine with the exception of the kernel panic. This kernel             panic being with (AppleIntelLBDWGraphicsFramebuffer(10.1.4), IOPCIFamily(2.9), IOSAcceleratorFamily(205.3), IOReportFamily(31)           AppleGraphicsDeviceControl (3.12.6), & IOGraphicsFamily (2.4.1)

    Things to note:

    1. This Laptop is running A07 rom

    2.  The DVMT has been successfully changed to 64mb

    3. Tried Using the Apple Install OS X for 10.11.4 (Should i use base 10.11?)
