  1. Hi Guys, Thanks. I think it's the 2GB Nvidia Quadro K2100M. Unfortunately, the laptop is currently getting repaired by my office and I won't have it back till the end of the week. (The reason I was hacking it was because the Windows drive had died anyways, so nothing to lose.) Ken
  2. Hi All, I have another question about this laptop. I need to get HDMI video/audio output to work. I have FakePCIID.kext, FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext, FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext in /S/L/E. System Information / Extensions says that FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext and FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext aren't loaded, even though FakePCIID.kext is… Is this the way it's supposed to look? Or is there something wrong that I need to figure out to get these two kexts loaded? Thanks, Ken
  3. The CodecCommander from the post #26 attachment was version 2.2.1 for some reason. I updated to the latest RehabMan version of 2.5.2 and now it's loaded and I have Internal Speakers. Note to self: even if someone else says a kext helped them, make sure to get the latest version of it instead of what they provide. It seems my menu bar glitches on boot are also gone now. Thanks for all the help.
  4. The provided DSDT patch for Intel only seems to be working fine. I have improved graphics (albeit with a slightly garbled menu bar unless I logout and then back in again), but the audio still doesn't work. I double checked and this DSDT did already have the layout-id=1 and the IRQ fix. I notice in System Information/Extensions that AppleHDA_ALC292 is loaded, but AppleHDA is not. Should AppleHDA also be loaded? I'm not sure what's expected there. I also notice in System Information/Audio that it does see the internal microphone, speaker, headphone, and line input. Something else I just noticed. Post #26 says I need CodecCommander.kext in /S/L/E. It's there. But according to System Information/Extensions, it's also not loaded. My main question now is why are these required kexts not loading.
  5. FFS, it seems I just needed to change the ACPI Specification in MaciASL to 5.1. Why it defaults to 4.0, I have no idea. Sigh. Now there are no errors in the DSDTs provided so I'm going to try them.
  6. Thanks for taking a look. I was using .aml, I just figured you'd want the source .dsl for more convenient reading. I just did this patch but it didn't help the audio. After rebooting I did magically have bluetooth working again, but I think that's due to the bluetooth problem being hit and miss. I think one of the Vietnamese guys in this thread is the guy who posted his files to Github, the ones I used. I used everything BUT the .dsl because the one he had wouldn't compile. So I was trying to add things as needed to my own original one. I'm going to go back and try to fix his original .dsl and see if that helps. Attaching his originals here if you could take a look. I didn't understand why his .dsl which he said worked perfectly wouldn't even compile without errors. I'm going to try and work on the Intel only one first. DSDT-SSDT DSL.zip
  7. Thanks. I never could figure out what I was missing. And on top of that, I had finally gotten bluetooth working this morning and then it just stopped working. No idea why. I didn't think i had changed anything. Archive.zip
  8. Finally got around to fixing the layout-id=1. Now Sound Output lists Airplay devices, but still no local sound. Searching on that now.
  9. Actually, after reviewing the other guides what I have in place already might work if I just do what Jake said: "Make sure layout-id in DSDT is set to 1." Either way, it seems I'll need to get that done if trying to use the other guides too.
  10. Thanks for the info. I've learned a lot from this little exercise so far. Time to try the patched kexts.
  11. So according to the lspci -nn output, my Dell Precision M4800 has the following: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High Definition Audio Controller I'm guessing the first is the HDMI audio for the integrated graphics card? And the second is the one I'm currently concerned with? Silly me to think all Dell Precision M4800 computers had the same sound card. Thanks, now I should be able to search on this and move forward.
  12. Hi Guys, Thanks for the responses. Jake, I had installed 10.11 on my desktop hackintosh not that long ago. So being familiar with that, and finding that Github repository for the M4800, I just pieced things together on my own using the provided config.plist and other files from there. The Github guy thanked you for helping with the ALC 292, which is how I found this site. I hadn't previously known about your guides/bootpacks. I'm sure I'm missing some kind of patch, because I never was that good with the low level patching. I do have the patches from post #26 in my config.plist as well as using those kexts. Are there any other standard patches I might be missing? If there was anything necessary in the github DSDTs then I definitely don't have those, since I couldn't get them to compile. Hervé, Thanks for those instructions. Having the real specs will help tremendously. I'll report back with my audio information. For all I know it might not be the same sound card.
  13. Hi, Sorry for the noob question, but what's the easiest way to dump my exact specs? I didn't buy my M4800, it was given to me, so I don't have any of the documentation that came with it to determine the exact specs. I found https://github.com/okiookio/M4800-Hackintosh and then from that found this site. I've been trying to implement the files. I have 10.11.4 installed on my M4800. But sound doesn't work (even when using the latest files from post #26) and neither does ethernet (but that's less of a concern since I have a new wifi/bluetooth card getting delivered today which will hopefully work out of the box.) Thanks for any help. Oh, and I couldn't use MaciASL to compile any of the DSDT files from the github download. There were many "Object does not exist" lines. [EDIT] I'm currently investigating the following for the answers to my questions: http://www.tonycrapx86.com/el-capitan-laptop-support/188853-fix-10-11-4-broken-audio-applehda-injector-dummyhda.html
