Asking E5450 owner about upgrading screen

I am planning upgrade to 1080p screen from 1366x768 screen on my E5450 next year. With IPS if possible. I have many question about spec. I noticed local unofficial Dell part store and other online store are selling two IPS and TN panel for E5450 but Dell datasheet do not mention them and eDP/LVDS connector. Again, stores do not mention eDP/LVDS connector too. They told me eDP/LVDS connector are same 30 pins.

I checked datasheet from Dell Partner Library. Here is list of display components used by E5450 (My E5450 is  2015 model):

  • 14.0” HD (1366 x 768) Anti Glare (16:9) WLED, 200 nits, Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer LCD back
  • 14.0” HD Touch with Corning® Gorilla® Glass NBT (1366 x 768) (16:9) WLED, 200 nits, Magnesium LCD back
  • 14.0” FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti Glare (16:9) WLED, 300 nits, Magnesium LCD back
  • 14.0” FHD Touch with Corning® Gorilla® Glass NBT (1920 x 1080) (16:9) WLED, 270 nits, Magnesium LCD back

I would like to ask to E5450 (January 2015 model) owners. What you have currently panel spec? IPS, TN, eDP, LVDS, 1080p, 900p, etc... Did you upgraded panel before? Like 1080p IPS from 720p TN. And do IPS looks good on E5450?

Let me know. Thanks!

I successfully upgraded to 1080p screen panel from 1366x768. It had issue with artifacts screen on 1080p until I enabled Legacy ROM option on BIOS.

Somehow, 1366x768 screen *never* have artifacts screen issue without enabling Legacy ROM option but I do not like Legacy ROM option because it is slowing down clover and apple boot time. That's all.
