Madgibbon
Hello all. I've just got my D630 running with 10.6.8. Everything is working well, nearly as well as my old MacBook. However I find the screen refresh a little annoying. When dragging windows, scrolling web pages etc its not smooth, there is ghosting/jerkyness. Does anyone know if this can be fixed? PS. I've set Graphics Enabler using Chameleon, Quartz Extreme is also enabled. Thanks
Administrators Syonagar Posted March 14, 2012 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2012 Hi Mad, Have you installed EDP, repair permission and rebuild your kext cache? Cheers!
Madgibbon
Yes done that a few times. Still the same problem. I've also reinstalled OSX, I get the same problem with 10.6, 10.6.3 and 10.6.8.
Administrators Syonagar Posted March 14, 2012 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2012 Which graphics card and screen resolution you have for your D630?
Madgibbon
Its the Intel 965 chipset so it has the X3100 integrated GPU. The screen res is 1280 x 800. I also have a D420 with GMA950 GPU running OSX 10.6.3. When dragging windows and scrolling web sites its nice and smooth. With the higher spec D630 its jerky. Administrators Syonagar Posted March 14, 2012 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2012 It seems you have the same spec as mine. Yes. I have also found my D520 with GMA950 GPU more responsive and smoother as compared to the X3100 GPU. What bios version are you on for your D630 at the moment? Administrators Syonagar Posted March 14, 2012 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2012 How jerky is your D630? I don't really find my D630 too jerky, unsmooth or unresponsive for it to be a problem.
Madgibbon
It's noticable. When dragging a windows it feels like it sticks, a bit like seeing individual frames of an animation. I can put up with the window dragging. It's the website scrolling thats driving me nuts. Ive seen the same thing on Windows machines with incorrect graphics drivers.
