I first played around with a hackintosh when the developer transition preview kit back in the days when it was far from stable. After playing with that I switched to real macs until I delved back into the hackintosh scene to replace my Mac Pro in 2010 as Apple's Mac Pro line had lost its competitiveness and had become grossly overpriced.
