  1. Well this doesn't look like it's working to well.. and stupid me bought a DW1560 which doesn't even fit in this laptop
  2. Lol.. ya that was the first thing I tried
  3. So I thought everything was fine,. But after doing kext repair/permissions I boot with or with out -v. It starts to boot then the screen dims and goes black and it does the same thing when booting from the USB drive,. I can only boot back to the installer I can boot into safe mode but not sure what to do,. I thought it was a text but that doesn't seem to be the case. I have reinstalled about 5 time trying different things but as soon as I do kext repair the system fades to black.
  4. ok i switched to usb hdd and now it's installing, Yeah it must have been that usb stick i was using. Thanks for the help =)
  5. That's where I put it but there is nothing to overwrite after I but the generic efi
  6. Well I try and figure it out tomorrow been working on this for a while. going to go play some squad for a bit maybe I will try a different USB stick I have had some problems with this stick before. Oh and I did notice at boot with clover it says OS not detected on the USB install disc but not sure if this is normal.
  7. oh. yeah maybe i used what ever was in the boot pack in post #2 for E5540
  8. yeah same thing. I click to install and says 1 minute to install then says .. macOS could not be installed on your computer. Request failed to initialize. quit the installer to restart.
  9. yes I formated with GUID / Journal Extended. I'm using usb2 port i will try the usb 3 port.
  10. just checked the files are there so that's not it. Could it have something to do with the usb stick being 64GB capacity ?
  11. I did, that's what i thought it might have been the first time. One thing I did notice is that after step 19. Copy BaseSystem.dmg and BaseSystem.chunklist (hidden files) from “OS X Install ESD†to root of “Install OS X El Capitan†the files disappear after copy and before i hide them again and it says something about them being invisible.
  12. Jake I need a little bit of help, I followed your el capitan install guide and used the e5540 boot pack, I'm able to get to the actual installed after partitioning my drive and it error after a second and says can't install on my computer please restart.
