  1. I was at A10, but then I upgraded to A20 to see if there was a change to allow just USB 3.0 to be turned off, there wasn't. I saw something about the specific version but I disregarded it since its the same type of thing I'm getting in Windows as in MacOS. Also does something similar in Linux but it ignores it.
  2. You can disable the USB ports in the BIOS, but all of them are disabled at that point. At least, that's what it says i the options. Not really a way to install OSX at that point. Other than the USB ports being broken this laptop is in complete working order, and it was completely free to me. I could use a USB hub if I so needed more ports but, I rarely use USB that much on a laptop. EDIT: Is there just a way to have macOS ignore the USB3 ports using a kext or something similar?
  3. Hey everyone, I recently acquired a Latitude E6530 for free with a broken screen. I noticed where it was dropped and some things on it don't work. After replacing the screen, I did some testing of it and noticed that the USB 3 port doesn't work, nor does the eSATA/USB port. Wasn't a really big deal to me, the back left USB port works just fine along with everything else. Now, here is the 'unique' part: I went to install macOS using a guide from this forum, but ran into a problem. I got a lot of error messages for AppleUSBHostController come up a million times, something about setting states. This just spams the verbose screen and eventually leads to a Ø after a minute or two. I ended up installing Windows 10 in the mean time to be able to use the laptop and in device manager it shows the XHCI controller but says 'device cannot start'. I've done a few of these Hackintosh installs but I'm kind of at a loss of what to do with this one. The EFI doesn't let you disable just the USB 3.0 controller. Thanks for any insight or help!
