  1. Hi Black.Dragon,

I tried the DSDT and changing ig-platform and the results are the same; trackpad not working and brightness control only after wake from sleep. I attached the debug files.

As for the trackpad, it is an Alps as seen in the image below (touchpad river in Windows).

    Thank you for your help.

Note: Sorry for the delay, I've been very busy this past days and could not test and repond as quickly.

  2. @Bronxteck in my case brightness control works only after waking from sleep for some reason. Otherwise at boot there's only two level possible, either full backlight or minimal backlight.

@abraxis Do you only have working backlight control after waking from sleep ?

  3. @abraxis I think it's the same issue I have, the brightness is actually so low you coudl think there's no output at all. If you use a flash light ( from a smartphone per example) you will see it's on the login screen.

@black.dragon74 We used ssdt-pnlf in patched folder from jake lo's bootpack.

  4. Here are the results.

It's still the same concerning the trackpad, still deactivated after wake from sleep but else it's okay.

However backlight becomes way more erratic. It boots with the screen at the lowest brightnes, almost pitch black. I had to do a hard reset to get the backlight at a normal level. Still can't control it if not waking from sleep. That was for both the DSDTs. It has also happened with the original DSDT.

The backlight issue (power management in general?) is actually the most troublesome.

  5. Here are the files.

I did some more testing and this is what i found.

Normal boot -> Trackpad OK, backlight and headphones audio NOK

Wake from sleep-> Trackpad NOK, backlight and headphones audio OK

Reboot after wake from sleep -> Trackpad NOK, backlight and headphones audio NOK<------> Normally the trackpad should be okay as a normal boot. This behaviour stays trough multiple reboots ( tried 4 times). I ran the debug in that state as well, you will find it in attachement.

If I turn off the computer and start it manually, it behaves once again as a normal boot. So once trackpad is deactivated because of sleep, it will stay in that state until the computer is turned off completely.

Note: i saved manually the ioregs each time so the one after reboot should be the same as the one in the generated debug archive.

  6. Hi Jake Lo,

I tried the files you sent me.

First I tested with El Capitan. the first issue was an error when booting "This version of MacOs is not supported on this platform". I fixed it by changing SMBIOS to 11,2 as before one the 7450 bootpack.

The trackpad works, tap to touch, two finger for right click, however I could not access the preference pane to enable scrolling so I don't really know about gestures.

    Audio did not work.

On power management. Closing the lid now works, it sleeps properly and wakes up without issues, however the trackpad is disabled when waking up.

The most problematic issue would be that I couldn't have  backlight control. At first there was not even the slider but upon reboot it "appeared" but there is only two mode, either full backlight or minimal backlight and no keyboard shortcut, I didn't try karabiner though.

Maybe I should add that I regenerated the ssdt for power management, copied the kexts from EFI/CLOVER/KEXTS/LE to /L/E.

    Now I installed Sierra.

Trackpad still works as before, still can't access trackpad preference pane.

Audio NOW WORKS.Internal audio is OK, output is perfect. However I can't get audio to work with headphones and some static can be heard sometimes, but it usually goes away after few seconds.

Power management is still not functioning properly.

    EDIT:

Actually trackpad works after bott from sleep in Sierra, I had'nt tried that yet.

Trackpad doesnt work from wake from sleep. However backlight control and headphones audio works perfectly when waking up from sleep. Mysteries...

  7. You're welcome :-). Sometimes enabling that option helps with completing the boot sequence, It's a mystery to me, however i disable it again to help with that issue.

As for audio, I never got it to work so i bought a cheap USB audio DAC. I will try with the files in this thread and report.

Did you try the kext for the trackpad?

  8. Hi Everybody,

Don't mean to hijack this thread. I also have a Dell Latitude e7280 with a 6th gen intel i5 6300 CPU and intel HD520. I installed El capitan on it following the generic dell install post with the skylake E7X70 bootpack.

For me touchpad works with the bootpack ApplePS2 kext, touch to tap and two finger tap works, the only issue is i can't get the trackpad preference pane to show up to active two finger scrolling. I think i tried most of the Alps Voodoo kext, nothing yet has allowed me to enable the scrolling.

Maybe you could try that kext for your touchpad as well? ( unless i'm completely missing something, hackintoshing is pretty new to me).

    As a report:

I still have the intel wireless card so wi-fi doesn't work.

I couldn't get audio to work, I also have the ALC256, i will try the files given in this thread and report what works.

I have issues with sleep/wake as well, the laptop won't sleep when i close the lid and of course the trackpad is not responsive when waking up...

A little bit I noticed is sometimes booting from clover won't go all the way and reboot, or KP ( more rare), i fix it by enabling Enable Legacy Roms from Bios. It usually helps with those weird bugs, however it needs to be disabled or else the computer will freeze when plugging/unplugging the power cord.

Everything else works, USB ports even the USB-C,ethernet, keyboard brightness (also another tidbit, native FN+Brightness doesn't work , the right combination is FN+ s or FN+b on my model, si I dont even need karabiner, the other shortcuts are normal),...

The only changes i made to the bootpack was remove everything related to audio to the config plist or the kexts since they were not working at all.
