  1. Please excuse my n00bness to the Hackintosh world, but I've only been in the Hackintosh world for the last 6 months or so. I'm a D830 user who has successfully run 10.6.3, 10.7, and 10.8 running using EDP. Each time, I blew it away and started fresh. I'm assuming that this is the correct method for installation, based off of what I have read when researching. However, after installing ML, I actually started using my Hackintosh quite frequently, and installed a lot of software. Some of this software has different activated licenses, like my effects plug-ins for my recording devices. Is there a document or procedure I can refer to that outlines how to preserve my software and settings so that I can run them after installation of Mavericks?
  2. Strangely enough, I thought I had tried this combination unsuccessfully before, but overriding the build to use the latest Voodoo patch (at least the latest in the EDP) worked. I'm going to test it out for latency, but it looks like a winner. Thanks for all of the help.
  3. I installed the plug-ins. Still no luck. The inputs and outputs still don't show up in the list of available options. These are supposed to run through standard Core Audio. Is there anything I can do to double-check my config?
  4. I appreciate the replies so far. Yes, the 2i4 is not technically supported under SL, but I know of some others running it on that as well. It's just not a supported release. ML is supposed to be supported, with no drivers needed. The license keys are for activating some optional software plugins. I was concerned about activating them on this laptop and the laptop not working long term. I'll try it today, but I really don't think it will solve the problem.
  5. Hi folks, Running into problems getting my D830 (currently stable on ML) to properly detect my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB recording interface. Looking in the system info, it sees it, but it doesn't seem to install the necessary stuff to run it (i.e. the interfaces are not selectable in GarageBand or any other app). I've actually used it before on a 10.6.3 machine that was technically unsupported, and everything detected fine. My install is straight from the myHack and EDP procedures on the site. Any idea what may be causing this? Or where I would start? I'm kinda new to the whole Hackintosh thing, especially on ML. Thanks in advance!
  6. Oddly enough, it was one of the unsupported ones (3945), which was why I had the switch turned off. I figured it might have something to do with expected PCI enumeration, or maybe just be a timing thing. I tried three times to install it with the adapter turned off, and it hung every time. Switched it on, and there it went. Everything looks fine, except that my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 isn't working properly, but that's a whole other subject.
  7. I posted this in another thread too, but I had the same problem on my D830 with Nvidia, trying to load 10.8.4. After combing around here, I saw that the recurring theme was a PCI issue. I had my wireless adapter switched off on 10.6.3 with another build. So, I turned it on. Sure enough, everything was golden. Hope this helps.
