This sounds like the same problem I had with an M6700 with NVidia graphics. Basically the CMOS seemed to get corrupt on sleep with the NVidia card installed(and optimus disable in the BIOS?! I think). None of the AppleRTC patches or DSDT changes I tried helped. I ended up swapping the card for the AMD option. Apart from the initial hassle with connector personalities it's all good. Been working great for the last couple of years.
