  1. My bad, forgot to mention it, its a dell latitude e7450, i5 5300u (if my memory serves me correct) 8gb ddr3 and the hd 5500 igpu, my bad for forgetting to put the specs in
  2. Hello again people, i am once again asking for your support, now let me get the basics out of the way: What EFI folder? Jake Lo's OpenCore 0.6.9 (tried with 0.6.6 and same thing happens) What is happening?: Legit im clueless on what it could be, had to reinstall macos as my old ssd died on me and i was unable to save anything, but yeah, if someone can help id be extremely greatful, thank you
  3. as i mentioned, im new to this, secondly i was sleep deprived and thirdly, the only bits i did follow on that video was the creating the boot drive and sth else that i cant remember, fourthly, i didnt know this site even existed at the time it was only when i started researching on what was causing it that i found the site and then i asked, either way ive got it sorted and it works brilliantly, as far as im aware not a single function doesnt work lol
  4. UPDATE: i've got it downloaded, thank you morpheousman and Jake Lo!
  5. I don't think i have the right big sur installer, I got told to download a recovery thing, also I had formatted it as a APFS but it mentioned something about it needing to be a different type of format instead and it didn't let me continue also I had made sure my bios settings were fine + bios is on latest update so that eliminates that. I'm using Jake Lo's OpenCore folder; issue is it starts fine but just shows a Apple logo and doesn't go from there Update: im too unpatient, it just wasnt showing the process of it loading up, its installing and so far looks 2000x better than it did before, from the cursor not being "laggy" to being able to use APFS format, i appriciate it especially if it works, means alot to me!
  6. Thanks for the response, I'll try your EFI, appreciate it a lot! this is the video i watched on how to do it, but i also had to cross reference with another video for things like the config and such i had to do the way where you add a folder and call it "com.apple.recovery.boot" idk if there are any other methods that don't require a Mac already but if there is then that's a problem where i'm going wrong out of all places. Well this'll be my last post until someone replies with more help as im now completely clueless, good news is it shows an apple logo, bad news, thats all it shows before it reboot loops im probably still doing something wrong so yeah sorry to those whos braincells I've demolished, hopefully once I've gotten it this one time I can do it more flawlessly in the future lol
  7. I'm 100% sure im doing something wrong then because I don't get a choice to change the language, mind sending me the tutorial you used for yours? If you used one that is (I ask it doesn't have a Mac because I'm broke that's why I'm making a Hackintosh lol)
  8. First off, hello everyone please forgive me for all the mistakes ive inevitably made, this is my first proper attempt at making a hackintosh. CPU: i5 5300u GPU: Intel HD 5500 RAM: 8gb ddr3 1600mhz Wireless adapter: unsupported one (im using ethernet for time being) thats all the important information related to my laptop i can think of, if anyone needs sth else lmk The issue: I've gotten to the install page on Big Sur, issue is whenever the install gets to 12 minutes remaining (exactly 12 minutes every single attempt) it throws what i assume is a kernel panic and restarts the entire pc, but i cannot for the life of me figure out why, could someone more intelligent then me possibly give me assistance? thank you, need anymore information please ask I'll provide the minute I see it! [EDIT] forgot to mention, im also looking for a good wireless adapter which is supported, can someone tell me one that isnt too pricy (like the dell one) but can unlock all/most functions which require it (like airdrop etc) [EDIT 2] I've just upgraded my BIOS to the latest version (i was on 09 or 07 i forgot which) hopefully that'll fix it but cant say for sure
