I removed it from S/L/E after reading several other posts about it conflicting. I then tried several Voodoo variants, but haven't found "the winner" yet. A system search shows no AppleHDA.kext anywhere on any of my drives.

I don't currently have an AppleHDA installed, do I still need the disabler? I removed the apple HDA when I installed the above suggested VoodooHDA kext

When I try 2.7.4 I followed the instructions by coping the kext, the pref pane and then running ktext utility. It installed, but when I go to my audio settings "Output Devices" still shows "No Output Devices Found"

I've got a fully working Dell Inspiron 1525 running base Lion 10.7 minus the audio. I've tried various voodoohda kexts I've found listed as being compatible with the 1525, along with various version of the AppleHDA kext to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know my laptop has the Sigmatel audio option. I thought about installing the various updates to bring it up to 10.7.5, but I've been afraid to due to lack of information and my desire not to mess up what is otherwise a perfect install. Does anyone have any suggestions?.
