  1. Got it working using Jake Lo's guide. All I had to do was switch the Extra folder with the one he linked to and the installer worked, though it still have the .playlist error. Just researching WIFI and one or two bits and pieces now. Thanks!
  2. Jake Lo, I just noticed you have a E6530 in your sig, I will have a read through that post now. Maybe my use of 10.8.4 was incorrect, I will see if I have 10.8.5 laying about.
  3. Sadly still running into issues as per the E6430 link. I have a 10.8.4 app file for use with myHack. It boots and assembles kexts. At first, the screen with the brushed aluminium is presented which then switches to a solid black with white text. When trying to process the bootcache.playlist (exact wording may be incorrect), it says the path is not accessible or does not excist. Some seconds pass, more lines pop up very quickly and the screen goes blank. This time, it does not go into a reboot. It just seems to hang on a blank screen. 4. Hi there, I would have been more than happy to edit the table if you wished however it has been deleted for whatever reason. Oh well. Thanks to the post kindly made by Darvinko, I have sucessfully created a USB installed based on a USB hard disk drive, sadly no USB flashes handy at the moment. I chose 10.7 and extras folder was installed sucessfully. However, the installer consistently fails after compiling all the kexts into a reboot. The text flashes by so quickly that it is not possible to determine what the last message is before the screen goes blank and the Dell spash screen appears. The Nvidia Optimus feature is off as I know that doesn't work with OSX installations. At the time of writing this, I am away from the computer in question and with the table I posted getting deleted I can not provide exacting specs aside from the computer having a 3rd gen quad core CPU and Nvidia graphics. I had the 10.7 app file downloaded already, would the fact that I used this and not the 10.8 be the reason for the failure? I know iFail installations are limited by CPU support at the very least. Thanks.
  5. Hello there! I have a Latitude E6530 on the way and it occured to me that I would like to see if OSX can be run on it. It has been a while since I have done any Hackintoshing, iFail v7 was my last system. I was hoping that I could list the specs and any possible problem areas could be discussed. Once I get the laptop (in a week or two) I can post the progress and results for anyone else. From now I will do some reading up on the basic installation process. The table that should have posted got a bit screwed up but each line in bold text is the component while standard text is meant to be a heading. It was a nice surprise to see a site dedicated to Dell OSX systems. Thanks for any help!
