Thanks sebmue! I took the plunge as well and you're right, the '9-cell' looks to be reporting a battery length for around 4 hours-ish. I haven't let it run until <10% yet (risk averse I suppose) but yes, it does work! =)

Hi all I'm new to the forum and it has been instrumental in helping me convert my D430! Just a quick query, as my oldish battery is now unfortunately running out of life (6 cell oem, probably about 1+ hour battery life on full charge), I was wondering whether has anyone tried using generic non-oem batteries and what their experience is? I am looking at perhaps acquiring a 9-cell non-oem for maximal cost-savings and battery life! Many thanks for the help! Really appreciate it! =)
