  1. Updated to 10.9.5 and lost audio, now investigating ...
  2. I just updated to 10.9.3 via Software Update without any change to my setup. Everything still works as before. Sweet !
  3. And internal microphone also works in Garageband, yeah thank you Jake Lo !!!
  4. Here is my new Extra folder Extra.zip
  5. Hi Jake, works perfectly with the buttons. I have not tested the microphone, HDMI or headphone, but that will probably be OK. I will confirm later. This is already far better then the VoodooHDA which had 1 possibel action: on or off. I also updated the Broadcom kext for the builtin in BCM5761. New Extra is attached. So, with this setup I have following I5 at 2.6GHz 8GB RAM SSD of 250 GB (a Samsung 840 Pro series) Screen is at 1920 x 1080 and is fully accelerated Battery is working, indicator as well Internet Ethernet cards (bcm5761) is running Wireless card is a third party mini card I pulled from my older Dell (capable of 802.11 a/b/g) What is NOT working (yet): HDMI out for the screen is NOT working (so audio via HDMI is also probably not working yet) USB3 ports are not working with USB3 devices, they do work with USB2 devices Not tested yet DVD playing (DVD player is detected properly) Audio via headphones Internal microphone I'm using the latest Chameleon boot loader (r2377). My screen only works is I use the "Intel CAPRI FB = 4" key and "Graphics Enabler = YES". My machine does have HDMI out and VGA out, but does do not work under OSX. I can use them under Windows 7 without problems, but mirrored and as extended displays.
  6. Updated to 10.9.2 without any special actions. All works as on 10.9.1
  7. Extra.zip here is the Extra folder
  8. Just some feedback to the community. I have my E5530 running under 10.9.1 with a minimal Extra folder en no longer need to inject a string to get the screen to work, thanks to a new Chameleon version. I'm using r2334 (I know we are at r2371 now according to Chameleon wizard). I use following settings: Bootflags: Ignore boot cache (-f). If not, then my mouse no longer seems to work, I use a Logitech Anywhere MX mouse with the unifying USB stub. GUI is selected Timeout: 3 I use a default partition to boot into Windows 7 if I do nothing special Legacy Logo is selected mach_kernel Misc: Ethernet built in is selected Restart Fix is selected no CPU options selected USB: EHCI Acquire fix selected UHCI reset is selected Graphics: Graphics Enabler=yes Skip NVIDIA GFX selected Skip AMD (ATi) GFX selected Intel CAPRI FB selected, value 4 is used (that is the ONLY value working for my 1920 x 1080 screen) Graphics Mode=1920x1080x32 My "SMBios" is set to Macbook Air5,2 I use NO DSDT and NO Chameleon modules. In a next post I will add my Extra folder
  9. To get my HD4000 to work I needed to add the following EFI string to the bootpack: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>No</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>"1920x1080x64"</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002 010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c000000 4100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066 006f0072006d002d0069006400000008000000040066011400 00006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e62 6f6172642d31</string> </dict> </plist> The 4 I indicated above is for configuration 4, the only one that seems to work on my E5530 (with HD4000, full HD resolution and I5-3320M cpu. Hope it helps with your display issue.
  10. Thanks guys, I will try these changes next time my work schedule allow it
  11. My Latitude E5530 with full HD screen (1920x1080) and i5 (3320M), 8GB RAM and SSD (250GB) is now on 10.8.5 Ethernet and wireless are working, full graphics accelerated, wireless via a Broadcom card, Bluetooth is not working anymore, sounds is either full or none but buttons work (just the soundlevel does not change). Gert
  12. Extra.zip As promised, the Extra folder (zipped) from my OSX installation. Point to note is that I have a QUERTY equipped 5530, no firewire port, Full HD display, no trackpoint, no fingerprint reader, no backlit keyboard. Gert
  13. hi iMick, I consider my hackintosh incomplete. I can send you the Extra folder as it is now, but I do not yet have a good measurement on the battery, Speedstepping is not functional I think, Sleep is not tested, USB3 is not tested, HDMI out or VGA out is not tested, the SD card reader or Expres card slot (I have a QUERTY version without Smartcard reader but with Expresscard slot) are not tested yet. I'm wrting this from my 5530 as a PC, I will send the Extra folder when I switch to OSX. Gert
  14. hello all, I'm glad to say that I managed to get OSX 10.8.4 running on my 5530 using an external USB disk. So far it looks like I have Graphics (with translucent menu bar, so I'm guessing I have accellerated graphics) Sound Mouse (I use a logitech Anywhere MX and the little stub in the USB port on the back) Built in ethernet Wireless (thanks to an old card by DELL) I have not tested: sleep, but shutdown works properly (and I do not use Sleep anayway) SDHC HDMI output or any second screen option. For my graphics to work I needed to add a rather long string to the bootp file. Details of that file in a next message.
  15. hi there, here is a run down of my system: It has an SD card slot as well as a PCIExpress cardslot. HDMI and two USB3 slots on the left, one USB2 in the back and one USB2 on the right of the housing. Webcam is built in. NO fingerscanner. I'm more then willing to do tests and use this machine as a testbed. I still have access to my D830 wich is fully working under 10.8.2 (still need to update to 10.8.3). I want to try to get an external disk to boot fully, before I install OSX on the free partition on the SSD for a dual boot (Win7/OSX) system. The EDP package for the E5430 will probably not work, as I do not have an I7 processor, but this is probably the closest base for my system, so I will try that this weekend. Gert
  16. I have an E5530 (since DEC 2012) and would like to know from Newbie how the installation with the new DSDT went. I have an I5 machine, 8GB, an Apple compatible WiFi card (which I pulled from my D830 where it worked perfectly). So far I installed using MyHack and the generic Extra folder, but can only work in safe mode. Tried the same with Uniboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) with the same result (can ony start in safemode). The steps to get to a full normal boot elude me, can anyone just list them, and please clarify where to get the necessary files please (do not just name them, since I have no idea where you got them from)?
  17. Just further confirmation: the installation ended on an error, but everything seemed to work fine. Also loading the latest update seemed to work even though it ended with an error. I installed GuitarRig 4 (I own a mobile interface) and tried to register. But the installation also ended on a failure notice, again everything seems to work but since I can not get the installation recognised by the activation tool, I'm not able to get the full version active (it installs as a demo first). Has anyone found a solution for the installation error in ML yet ?
  18. I have the same model: D830, 2,2 GHz Intel Core Duo 2, 3GB RAM, Nvidia NVS 140M with 256GB, 1680 by 1050 screen. I'm now running OS 10.8.2 with the latest update (12C60). And all works except for sleep. I did replace the wireless card from Intel with a Broadcom version. To get there I used a USB stick made with MyHack, replaced the Extra's folder via MyHack (so I did not copy it myself). After building the external disk on which OSX resides, I ran EDP, and after that I ran Disk Utilities to do a full permissions correction. That solved my problems with slow shutdown. Since then I replaced the backgrounds during logon, changed the screensize in de Themes plist and use my Dell as my Macbook. So far no issues anymore. I will try to find a solution for sleep, but I can live without that (I never use this anyway). Just so you know it is possible to get a D830 with this NVidia card working. Just one thing: in "About this Mac" my videocard is shown as NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS 256 MB. I think this is a string I should be able to replace in the DSDT file. But I did not test this yet.
