  1. Tried that and when going to diagnostics and then WiFi is grayed out. I also have in there a Huawei EM700U card and back when I had it in a Dell D620 with I believe 10.5 or 10.6 that actually worked with a SIM card. I may just have to buy a DW1510 if that will work OOB.
  2. It does show up but there is no WiFi when trying to add. I wonder if it's that fix that didn't end up taking that 3rd command MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ sudo chmod 755 /usr/libexec/airportd Password: MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ sudo chmod 755 /usr/libexec/airportd MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ sudo chown 0:0 /usr/libexec/airportd MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /usr/libexec/airportd xattr: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/usr/libexec/airportd' MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$
  3. It's not seeing the device in the network preferences
  4. Yes the Dell DW1397 Half Mini PCIe If only it would work, I thought it was in the list of supported cards.
  5. That's okay I may get one of those models but my WiFi doesn't work now as it is. Any idea's to get that? It's the last thing left on this bad boy
  6. Have it running the fix now so I'll reboot after that. No the WiFi doesn't show up at all but bluetooth does. Battery is showing now, still no WiFi though. So I run the file, airportd, and then run the commands you gave me and that's it? The light for WiFi is also on and the switch is in the on position. With that one you sent me the sleep no longer works but I have battery percentage. Strange On a side note can this be updated to 10.9 or will that break everything?
  7. I got the screen shot uploaded. Not sure on the battery and the WiFi command wouldn't go. I'm sure you could fix it in a few minutes, . Teamviewer Booting with -f flag does nothing for battery.
  8. First 2 commands took not the 3rd. MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /usr/libexec/airportd xattr: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/usr/libexec/airportd' On the battery you click show in status bar it clicks really quick then disappears and it stays at 0% all the time in this menu. Not sure why I can't upload a screen shot here but linked it to drop box
  9. ast login: Wed Apr 16 17:40:55 on console MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ sudo chmod 755 /user/libexec/airportd Password: chmod: /user/libexec/airportd: No such file or directory MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ If that's the fix you are referring to it doesn't seem to do anything. I can't copy the file to the folder it's not there and I can view hidden folders but can't open them. I know this is a learning process but I wish OSX wasn't so complicated I'm trying to paste in the files but it's not working. 10. Found this but I really don't want to mess anything up.
  11. I actually went with the Dell DW1397 Half Mini PCIe 14e4-4315 BCM4312 B/G Y Y Y1 Y2 N (same as DW1395) I'll check that out. Also is there a way to get the battery percentage to work? Sorry I know I'm a pain if I could buy you a few beers for all the help I would
  12. Sleep works, I found a WiFi card that is compatible and I'm going to swap out the webcam from my other E6520 tomorrow so I should have a nice working laptop after all this. Thanks for all your help, do I need to do anything special to get the WiFi card going? Dell DW1505 Mini PCIe 14e4-4328 BCM4321 A/B/G/N Y Y Y Y2 Y
  13. Thanks, I may have some spare ones laying around. Everything seems to be working. Not sure if sleep will work and also not sure how to change the bootloader so it automatically boots into the OS and I don't have to hit enter on the keyboard. You've been very helpful I wonder if this will work in a docking station so I can use it at work.
  14. Okay well decided to run the EDP tool and config and custom build and then did the "do build" and it went through it's thing I rebooted and video is not all choppy and I have sound also. Here is the output as that worked also Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ lspci -nn 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family DRAM Controller [8086:0104] (rev 09) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0126] (rev 09) 00:16.0 Communication controller [0780]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1 [8086:1c3a] (rev 04) 00:19.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection [8086:1502] (rev 04) 00:1a.0 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #2 [8086:1c2d] (rev 04) 00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller [8086:1c20] (rev 04) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 1 [8086:1c10] (rev b4) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 2 [8086:1c12] (rev b4) 00:1c.2 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 3 [8086:1c14] (rev b4) 00:1c.3 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 4 [8086:1c16] (rev b4) 00:1c.5 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 6 [8086:1c1a] (rev b4) 00:1d.0 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #1 [8086:1c26] (rev 04) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge [0601]: Intel Corporation QM67 Express Chipset Family LPC Controller [8086:1c4f] (rev 04) 00:1f.2 SATA controller [0106]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 6 port SATA AHCI Controller [8086:1c03] (rev 04) 00:1f.3 SMBus [0c05]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family SMBus Controller [8086:1c22] (rev 04) 02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4727] (rev 01) 0a:00.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394) [0c00]: O2 Micro, Inc. 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller [1217:13f7] (rev 05) 0a:00.1 SD Host controller [0805]: O2 Micro, Inc. 15. Did all that and same results. Last login: Tue Apr 15 22:46:47 on console Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ lspci -nn lspci: Cannot find any working access method. Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ iMessage however works. Bluetooth setup pops up on every reboot and you have to hit enter on the keyboard to get it to boot up as it doesn't boot directly into the OSX
  16. Ran the myfix from the USB again and same thing Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ kextstat -l | grep 'lspcidrv' Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ lspci -nn lspci: Cannot find any working access method. Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ Also on the iMessage, there is no nvram.plist file generated. 3. Reboot so a NVRAM file can be generated 4. Get your PlatformUUID: In terminal type: ioreg -lw0 | grep PlatformUUID5. One you have your UUID, go to Extra and there should be a nvram.blah12345.plist file generated, open it with textedit auls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ ioreg -lw0 | grep PlatformUUID | "IOPlatformUUID" = "C2EFFDFD-E29D-5B3D-A0EA-4EE1DB31A1B2" | "IOPlatformUUID" = "C2EFFDFD-E29D-5B3D-A0EA-4EE1DB31A1B2"
  17. I'm not sure on the is lspcidrv.kext not loading in Extra/Extension. I ran the extra from myhack and selected the folder and hit open and it did it's thing. Is there a file in the extra folder I select or just open the folder? I was on the right track with the iMessage I'll have to check that next.
  18. Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$ lspci -nn lspci: Cannot find any working access method. Pauls-MacBook-Pro:~ Paul$
  19. I'm back up and running and did not run the EDP this time. I did point to the Extra folder on the USB drive during installation. Do I need to do that again? Seems as if the video is a little laggy.
  20. Everything installed fine this time. At the end I got installation failed though but it still booted up after I rebooted (I think I read somewhere it may do this). Anyway I plugged it into the ethernet because WiFi wasn't working and download and ran the EDP app. Went to reboot and it won't boot now. I did the "build my own" per the instructions and selected 6520 without NVidia because I didn't see the 6420 without NVidia as an option. Well back to square one but hey I'm further than before. Not sure what WiFi card is in there, probably Dell or Intel I'd assume
  21. I was trying with the -v flag. I'l try the extra file from your attachment and see how it goes. I was using the one in your signature but I believe that is for the 2620m
  22. The bootpack was from this site. Tried the one from your signature on 10.8.5 and no luck. It doesn't get to the install portion. Yes I loaded bios defaults and set SATA to AHCI
  23. I tried both 10.8 and 10.9. I'll give it a shot though and see what happens
