  1. hi Jawhnl5 thank you of the reply, I am trying to make the bootable usb stick but when i open de edp tool.command i get this message ?? ERROR 2: WORKPATH is set to /Volumes/OS X USB install/Extra, it should be /Extra, make sure that you ran edptool.command from /Extra

What i am doing wrong ( sorry i am an newbie and familiar with mac can you help me out?

Follow the guide again, but instead of using EDP to prepare the Extra folder, download the one that matches your D620 model (GMA950 Graphics or nVidia graphics) from the link provided. EDP does not work when making Extra folders for install usb drives. Also, turn on your D620 and on the dell screen, hit F2 and go to System Info. If it says "Core Duo", don't even attempt it. If it says "Core 2 Duo", there is still hope.

  2. Ethernet doesn't work out of the box for OS X. You need to install EDP. Once EDP is installed and you have restarted, go to Network, and it should say a new Network Interface has been added to your system, called Ethernet. Now you are able to use Ethernet.

  3. Any ideas where I could recover the network kext for D620 having already updated, I don't really wanna have to roll back.

Sorry for being a complete noob, thanks for all your help, best community on the web by far!!!

Get the EDP package for Snow Leopard, put that on a CD or Flash Drive and install it on the D620, restart, and everything should be back!

  4. At this point in time, I would say stick with Snow Leopard. The compatibility is much better as of now, and it runs way more smoother than Lion, even if Snow Leopard doesn't have iCloud. It is also way more smooth on the Hackintosh community, but that will improve as times go on.

  5. I updated to 10.7.2 and rebuilt my kext configuration with EDP 2.1, and I booted using arch=i386 -v and was able to get into OS X. I had noticed it removed the arch=i386 boot flag, so I re-added it and now I can get in 10.7.2 with no problem. Still have the shutdown/restart problem. Don't know if that will be solved later on or not.
