i did this in my previous installation and trial to get sound working ( such a pity for all the work, install and update, time... ) but get a KP after the reboot and screwed my system. So I'm here again and a bit afraid to run this kext..

    And check this out: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/835-snow-leopard-d630nvidia-installation/

KP is related to apple.ps2.kext see this one: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/607-sound-d630-with-lion-107/page__p__4049__hl__%2Bno+%2Bsound__fromsearch__1#entry4049

Maybe i should give it a try : http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/downloads/list and run the right one

  2. I've got it working! - yes....

after trail and error- several installations and ours on this forum - your support so far! almost there.

Original dell A17 bios - turn off wifi and cpu speed enabler.

Install from usb pen in -x mode

reboot in -x mode and configure / setup basics.

install edp 1.9.1 ( do not run anything - close the terminal ) and overwrite first the extra map with this one http://cl.ly/341g0O3U0v2O3X2Z1p1X the FakeSMC.kext and FakeSMC 21-48-08.kext. from edp 1.9.1 gives KP ( thank you Leon )

run edp tool command - and choose in kext installation for D630 with nvidia? option 7, Bronxteck mentioned NATIT loading? so i went for it... but i do have Intel chip?

install chameleon - bootloader (Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r665.pkg) and add high resolution dsdt.aml

reboot normal ( after boot, Keyboard and sound are not working ) mode and update Chameleon from EDP option 4 / 1

    and update Mac osx 10.6.8

keyboard is back and working but still no sound!

So please advise how to get SOUND working! only thing left................... <_<

    btw Upgrade my D630 with a T7700 Intel® Core™2 Duo 2.40 MHz 4mb . so nice :P

  3. O men, I've been going to hell with this dell d630 - it is a XWGA 1440x900 - Express 965 Intel Crestline Graphics / X3100 chip and i did upgrade OSX bios latest! GMA version...

run the setup again with -s -v

@Bronxteck - about the Natit this what happening during boot / setup installation..

    Loading VoodooHDA 0.2.1

Controller: Intel 82801H (vendor ID: 8086, device ID: 284b)

    Natit: Starting.

    Natit: Found device with ID=0x2a02

  4. c-states error is normal for older dell laptops.... you might have other issues.... your sata might be set to ide instead of ahci.... your catches might be corrupted, or edp was not installed correctly.

On a D430 and a D620 i get it all working with the same USB pen! EDP 1.9.1

With the D630 I'm not even able to setup / start with installation normal? have to run in -x mode... otherwise my screen will turn after a few seconds into black. after the first installation i have to boot in order to install EDP, but it stuck / hangs on what i describe...

  5. LIke to bump in as well, same issue for me...

When i boot it will end here, see attached screenshot, lpcdriver failed - C-state power management not initialized.

Intel® ICH8/ICH8R Family LPC Interface Controller, in normal mode the boot stuck on this controller - so i cant go on, it is a part f the chipset! So what i need is a expert on DSDT / SSDT hacking!
