  1. So far so good with my setup. I promised some updates and I've been able to boot all three os's with no problem. OSX sometimes (rarely) hangs when booting but powering down and trying again always gets it to boot into osx. The pointing stick is the only thing that does not work. I'm afraid that if I start messing with it my PS2 keyboard / mouse will go away! Cool stuff and good luck!
  2. Hey SipArt, After using the setup over the weekend I've been impressed with the performance. That particular machine is more for mobile use than anything creative. Remote Desktop, Office and more administrative applications keep up just fine. I read that Snow Leopard was faster but I did not get a chance to get that setup fully going for me. Lion is keeping up quite well and has exceeded all of my expectations. It actually boots faster than the Windows 7 partition and is closer to the feel of Ubuntu but with the attractive front end that Apple products offer. I will use the setup full time this week and post any issues / bugs....
  3. Hey Gang! Finally got it working. Your wiki, forums and member support were instrumental to guide me in the right direction. Unfortunately, the guides did not work for me but I was able to mix every possible step to get it working for me. I listed the guide on The Technical Support Network's Blog because they were helping out also! Anyways, feel free to peruse through it to see if you find anything useful. Thanks again!
  4. @Syonagar: I installed 10.6 with EDP 1.9.2. @Bronxteck: I reset to bios defaults and still no joy update: I even tried burning a usb pen for Lion (InstallESD.dmg) with EDP 2.2 and D430 Bootpack kexts and ran into some different issues. Everything worked but Chameleon was not able to boot from the internal partition when trying to boot without the usb pen for the first time. When it did boot from the usb pen everything worked as expected...which was quite cool! I've tried everything the osxlatitude website guide suggests along with everything on the 'myhack' website guide. I'm gonna keep trying things but I'm sure it is something I'm missing. I'm learning more about how the file system works with every re-install! The moment I get it working I will post what worked. I'm getting close! Thanks again.
  5. Tried rebuilding the the EDP and repairing the permissions and still no joy. When doing a 'kextstat' I'm not seeing the Voodoo PS2 controller being loaded...which is most likely the issue. They are in the /Extra/Extensions directory and the permissions are correct. USB mouse / keyboard works though. Any ideas? Thx again.
  6. First and foremost.....heeeellllooooo No really, great job to the administrators and contributors of this website and osx effort! I've followed the instructions and successfully created a boot pen (using a usb drive and SLD430USB.img.bz2 image). I did not have an available osx machine to make the boot pen so I did it in Ubuntu 11.10. If anyone is interested the command I used that worked was: sudo chown 777 /dev/sd# sudo bzcat SLD430USB.img.bz2 | dd of=/dev/sd# Right out of the gate everything worked when booting from the usb pen and selecting the osx partition (internal drive)...basically the last part of the instructions before applying EDP 1.9.2 and installing Chameleon. After installing EDP, configuring it and installing Chameleon the machine reboots without the pen drive but the video and ps2 mouse / keyboard did not work.....meaning the video was washed out and the onboard ps2 mouse/keyboard did not work. Honestly, it worked / looked better when booting the internal osx from the usb pen drive. I wish I could 'save' the configuration on when it booted with the pen drive and using the internal osx partition. I feel that I did not need any additional kexts but I know I'm missing something. Thanks again for the hard work and I'm sure this one will be an easy one for you guys.
