  1. Hi.. The updates coming thru the App Store should be Supplemental Update and iTunes... Something must be wrong with ur App Store??? But nevermind you can download the update from..... https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1937?locale=en_US Regards....
  2. Hi ... The Supplemental Update installed after I took your hint to boot up with USB.. When I did that it finished the installation. So if you do the update as well .. please note halfway through the update.. it will fail and show you what looks like 4 screens in 1 screen... If you boot with USB then the installation will complete...... After that.... the system will boot up normally without the USB... Regards bd4utonite2 PS.. no need to reinstall the Graphics kext...
  3. Hi TheOpSis... Did you update your HSierra x201 with the 10.13 Supplementary Update? I did it just now and it broke the machine... Graphics has been affected!!! What is your way to overcome this..... Regards Bd4utonite2
  4. Hi... Cpus are the same as far as frequencies are concerned.. they are showing 1.2ghz temp is hovering around 48/49 deg C... Guess stepspeed is not working? Anyways i rebuild my machine because of #44 and now i only have DSDT.aml inside the ACPI/Patched.... Regards bd4utonite2
  5. Hi theOpSis... Can't answer your question... I updated iTunes and i can't boot now... LOL... i am getting an error of .. fs_get_inode_with_hint:7825: failed to load inode 1027071 ret 22 Error loading kernel cache (0xe).. I will try to see what is happening...... from the forums they say the fakeSMC PLugins are causing the problems... But it was working yesterday for the whole day...hmmmmm must be something i done... like messing with the Clover Theme manager or something.. Regargs bd4utonite2
  6. Hey Micro.... Just follow the instructions in #1. This is what i did to get to the installer...... 1) Bios Setting..... see thread #11 2) 2 USB Setup to get to install screen..... a) 1 usb [2gb] formatted as MBR Partition Layout and FAT32 Partition Format. Install with the latest Clover BootLoader with the setting shown in thread #20. Choose a Customize install and not a Standard install to make sure your setting are correct. 1 usb (8gb0 formatted as GPT Partition Layout and HFS+ Partition Format. Create the High Sierra Boot USB with the terminal command shown in thread #13. Be sure you name this USB as USB2 if not change the terminal command to suite the name of your 8GB USB 3) Post Install.... As per instructions in thread #1. But Clover install to internal hard disk is as per 2a [thread 20] but you need to add select "Install Colver in ESP". Please refer thread #32 attached jpeg for settings... Note you have to tweak the EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched to make sure your system boots from the internal HD. If you are having problems boot with the initial USB [2gb] created in 2a. Once you get to the Desktop of the internal HD.. you can mount the HD EFi and tweak your EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patchedj until it works. Please see thread #33 Good luck bd4utonite2... PS.. it is up to theOpSis to do a revise guide... I am not the originator of this hack... and pre and post install tools did not come from me. I could not possibly answer what was done with the DSDT patching etc..... but i will try to help you in anyway i can here..... But besides that I have a working x201 with High Sierra thanks to theOpSis......
  7. Hi TheOpSis... HWMonitor shows me a cpu temperature hovering around 48 to 50 degrees Celsius. However the fan is constantly on.. although quite silent..... I got the battery indicator working.... also install the lates Voodoohda for High Sierra using the classic method instead of installing in ESP Regards bd4utonite2
  8. Hi... Just found out SSDT-2.aml is the CPU PowerManagement patch.... Do you remember what you did there... why would it be different we have the same machine.... Regards bd4utonite2
  9. Hi TheOpSis... I kind of managed to get the Post Install EFI to work. I installed in ESP.. and then removed all the *.aml files inside EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/Patched. I put in one file at a time eg. DSDT.aml and reboot the machine to see if things work.... I keep adding back the aml files one by one until i found the one that was causing trouble for my machine... For my machine.. i found out SSDT-2.aml was causing the problem so i have omitted it from my boot list for the time being. Can you remember what you were patching in SSDT-2.aml??? Another thing... Battery indicator does not work for me.. i click on it to show on the menu bar but it keeps un-checking itself. Also Sound [AppleHDA] is not working on my internal speakers.... plugging in a usb speaker works.... If you could help me out on the above 3 issues, then i think you can write your user guide.... I manage to get my wifi and ethernet working...... with 2 kexts Regards bd4utonite2
  10. Hi TheOpSis... I have managed to find out what needs to be done in order to install the Clover bootloader to the internal SSD/HD of the GPT partition scheme... You missed out the "Install Clover in ESP" this should be chosen if you have a legacy system which is what the Thinkpad x201 is ...[if i am not mistaken as it won't boot EFI] After that I replace the EFI partition with the Post Install Stuff.. Please note... your Post Install Stuff did boot the system but it never reaches the desktop and it reboots itself again.... I have ran out of time to do any further testing..... Can you please make sure or find out why your post install stuff is not working... could it be it's too specific to your machine? I have the same machine...... At the moment i have put the EFI-to reach installer in my EFI so that my machine can boot for the time being until you sort out the Post Install Stuff Cheers bd4utonite2
  11. Hi TheOpSis.. Ok... stop short of the final install of the bootloader to the installer HD/SSD... Your instructions works fine for a 2 USB thumbdrive instal.... 1) 1 small USB (2GB) for fat32 Clover bootloader install.. yes include your screen capture of your standard settings.. 2) 1 USB [8GB) of Mac OS X High Sierra install using terminal [i have left instructions with you in this forum].. this usb is formatted GPT and HFS+ 3) I would also advice that you include VoodooPS2Controller.kext in your EFI/kext/other so that the user will have trackpad [mouse] during installation 4) the bios version and setting for LCD screen and ACPI Installation is straight forward and it works..... Cheers... PS .. when you remember what you did for the internal hd boot please let me know ...
  12. Hi TheOpSis.. Ok understood...... I suppose we are trying to help anyone trying to install High Sierra on a Thinkpad x201. For the bolded question that you did not understand.....i will put it another way..... 1) Did you upgrade your x201 from a Sierra to a High Sierra ..... 2) If you did to question 1.... was the original working Sierra image running on MBR partition? I am no hacking expert by any stretch of the imagination but i have done and have in my possession quiet a bit of desktop and notebooks hacked with quite a few version of Mac OS X. I do not know much about installing on MBR partitions... If you look at this thread... https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/10016-macos-x-sierra-on-thinkpad-x201-successful/ The user CrownAce specifically stated that he patched his Sierra Installer for MBR installation. In short, I think if you can point your standard clover settings to the USB and your SSD/HD and the install works means that you are running a MBR partition scheme and not a GPT.... in order to run a MBR internal HD/SSD you need to patch the High Sierra installer for MBR install [i think] There is no way you can install your Clover standard install settings to a GPT partition scheme HD/SSD.... I hope you understand what i am trying to tell you.... Your instructions work only half way......... you need to remember how you installed your bootloader for the internal HD/SSD Regards.....
  13. Hi .... Are you sure your install image was not patch for MBR Installation. The only way you can point the your Clover Standard Install at the Internal HD/SSD and install successfully [meaning USB and SSD/HD clover setting being the same] must be the fact that your HD/SSD in MBR partition and not GPT partitioned..... cheers
  14. HI.. Installation was successful.. but i think you made an error in your assumption that the setting in your Clover standard install will create an EFI Partition on the internal HD/SSD. When i point the Clover install (with your standard settings) at my SSD HD it fail to install. But when i changed it to install for EFI only it installed. I deleted the EFI folder in the EFI Partition and copied all your post install files and folders to the EFI Parttion... but now as before the system does not boot from the internal HD/SSD...... As you said in one of your post you did it in 2016 from what sounds like a Sierra update? Now i have to figure out what the setting are for the internal HD/SSD for clover else it will never work.... It does not make sense that the Clover installer share the same settings for MBR (USB) and GPT (internal HD/SSD) install?? Regards bd4utonite2
  15. Hi... I am not sure what will happen if i point to SSD.... When pointing this to USB no EFI partition was created since it was MBR and Fat32. It's late here, i will try it tomorrow and let you know.... the SSD during install will be GPT partition scheme and formatted APFS. It might force an EFI partition creation... Lets see.... Thanks
