  1. Re-installed El Cap 10.11.4 and upgraded to 10.11.5.  Bluetooth is back, but man the reception sucks.  I move my head, stand up or go more than three feet away it starts stuttering.  Oh well, I think that's the way its going to be.

I must have missed something though.  I'm getting the dreaded "A valid DVD drive could not be found. [-70012]".  I installed IOAHCISerialATAPI_Injector.kext from Jake Lo into /L/E.

  2. i tested the dw1550 bt on another machine that had the usb headers on the pci-e slot and all i needed was dinesh's BT firmware uploader from this forum to get it working. i did not use rehabmans kexts /methodes

Well, I went back to Windows and it now does the same thing there, disconnects after a few seconds, so it doesn't seem to be software related.  Its weird, it was working fine under Windows 7.

The last thing I did before it completely crapped out is this mentioned from here:

defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Bitpool Max (editable)" 80

defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Bitpool Min (editable)" 80

defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Initial Bitpool (editable)" 80

defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Initial Bitpool Min (editable)" 80

defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Negotiated Bitpool" 80

defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Negotiated Bitpool Max" 80

defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Negotiated Bitpool Min" 80

I deleted all of them but it never recovered.

So I went back and pulled my BCM94352 card and put back my Atheros AR5BHB92-H card and GHS2 Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter Like I mentioned originally this USB BT adapter did work fine before, not it doesn't...disconnects after a few seconds.  In Windows 7 it doesn't connect at all.  It discovers, but cannot pair.

So I must be wondering if something with the MBO or the gods have just decided they don't want me to have BT on this build.  :?

I'm going to try BTFirmwareUploader and let you know.  Since it doesn't work in Windows I'm not to hopeful though.  Thanks for the tip and help.

    Bob

  3. Turned out the discovery problem was due to my coax leads from the mini PCI-E card.  Replaced those and discovery works fine, however BT keeps dropping.  The card and BT work fine in Windows 7.

Can someone help me understand how to get the USB fix applied for my MBO. I am so lost with reading forums, clover patches, custom kexts and everything else. I've read forums, watched videos and everything else. My Clover generated DSDT doesn't match IOReg or IOJones. I've attached everything I can think of. I don't know where to start or what kexts I need or don't need.

Please have a look. If anyone with the same hardware as me has been successful, please pass along what I need to do. My main issue is my Bluetooth keeps dropping (disconnecting) after a few seconds. WIFI works fine. Seems like graphics are fine too, but DVD player says "HD Unsupported".

    WIFI/BT: AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352 802.11/ac/867Mbps WLAN + BT4.0 Half Mini PCI-E Card.

    The attached zip file contains:

    • EFI folder less themes
    • IOJones dump
    • iMac.spx
    • Hardware specs: specs.txt
    • Directory dump of /Library/Extensions (L-E.txt)
    • Directory dump of /System/Library/Extensions (S-L-E.txt)
    • kexts.txt - modified kexts.  Some I know are modified because kext rebuild flags them with invalid signature.  Some I'm not sure of because but the file date is off.  Not sure.  Tried lots of different remedies and cures.
  4. A few more things.  I'm a software developer by trade mostly Java based.   I'm familiar with C type block structure syntax.  I'm also familiar with XML, both very well.  I don't understand this when it refers to downloading config-bcm94352-... and applying three patches.  What three patches are we referring too?  Also since the syntax is block structure in the file and my clover config.plist is XML format, how do I paste this in?

  5. My Build

    • MBO: GA-H97N-WIFI
    • CPU: Intel Core i7-4790S Processor (HD4600 Graphics)
    • Wifi / BT: AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352 802.11/ac/867Mbps WLAN + BT4.0 Half Mini PCI-E Card
    • No DSDT
    • SSDT generated by ssdtprgen

    Problems:

    • Glitchy screen when boot Clover -- This isn't a big concern, just thought I would point it out if it helps troubleshoot.

    Notes:

I've been reading all over about how to configure the BCM94352HMB to work with El Capitan / Clover. The information out there is confusing and sometimes seems contradictory.  Maybe I've double up on custom kexts and clover patches.  I don't know.

The graphics seem fine.  Also WIFI seems to work fine too.  My biggest concern is Bluetooth.  I've had this same card in a E6540 with some help from Jake Lo and not had issues, so I'm somewhat familiar with it.  Before you tell me to read some post, I can tell you I've pretty much read everything and tried about everything.  I would appreciate clear instructions. I would prefer clover kext patching over actual customized kexts.   Also I'm not sure if I did the audio correctly but I got it working it appears.  You can see from my post that I have kext patching in clover's config.plist.

Also, I have deleted com.apple.Bluetooth.plist may times too.

    Thanks anyone who can help.

  6. It works.  It wasn't the DSDT at all.  I had the AppleSDXC.kext from your original post in /S/L/E.  I replaced it with the 10.10.4 original and it shows up fine.

Thanks for the help.  Any tips with the Wifi / BT card that you know of would be appreciated.

  7. DSDT was already patched for SD Card reader. Check Disk Utility to see if it needs to be formatted.

Please upload your latest ioreg so it could be confirmed.

Checked Disk Utility again and nothing shows.   IO Reg attached.

Also, I have the AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352 802.11/ac/867Mbps WLAN + BT4.0 Half Mini PCI-E Card.  I've installed BTFirmwareUploader_v2.8.5_Final.zip from here.

I also applied the patches for XT to US fix and recognize as Apple card posted here.

I'm curious if I need to do any DSDT patching.  I tried to follow the posts, but they didn't seem to make sense.  I couldn't find where the patching should go in the DSDT.  Wifi seems to work well.  Bluetooth seems to loose itself, but what gather is it seems like bugs in Apple's OS and Bluetooth problems seem to plague lots of Macs running Yosemite.

I don't want to side track on this, but if you guys have any insight, please pass it along.

  8. Thanks for your help too.

I tested the hot plug for HDMI audio for giggles and no go. Same behavior.

I don't have the back light function icon so I doubt I have it period.

I'll have to get back to you on the lid. I can't test it right now. It did seem to work ok before.

  9. FN-F1 - Sleep
    Power button to wake
    FN-F3 Dim
    FN-Pause Bright
    Internal speakers work
Headphones, I'll have to find a set, I'm moving and packed stuff up.
Keyboard backlight, dunno.  FN arrows do nothing, but I don't know if I have a back light
    Touchpad seems fine
SD card, dunno.  I'll have to find one and try it.
Volume control:  Volume up and down and mute keys all work.

  10. Hi Everyone,

    I have the AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352 802.11/ac/867Mbps WLAN + BT4.0 Half Mini PCI-E Card and I've installed BTFirmwareUploader_v2.8.5_Final.zip.  Questions:

    1) I'm not sure if I'm supposed to edit Info.plist in this kext or not.  I'm not clear about what to do here?

    2) I just installed the kext as is, and Bluetooth shows up, but when I pair it with my iPhone 6, it pairs then immediately drops the connection.  Is there something else I need to do?

    I'm running Yosemite 10.10.4 on a E6540.

    Thanks!

    Bob

  11. Yes, I understand.  Let me explain again:

Power off machine, HDMI not connected, Power up, Log in, connect HDMI, Sound shows HDMI, There IS NO audio through the TV.

Power off machine, Connect HDMI, Power up, Log in, Sound shows HDMI, There IS audio through the TV.

So basically hot plugging in HDMI doesn't give you audio.  I'm not concerned since I will use this at work and we don't really do any audio type of stuff anyway and If I did present on one of the conference room TVs, I wouldn't blast audio through it anyway.  As long as the screen works, I'm happy.

Just letting you know in case you are interested.

    ----

I'll put together some instructions sometime later.  Thanks again for all the help.  If there is anyway to repay the favor I would love too!!!!

  12. Wow, some success!!!

Ok, if I boot up with the HDMI TV plugged in, then I loose Internal speakers in Sys Pref -> Sound, but it plays through the TV.  Not a big deal.

If I boot up without the HDMI TV plugged in, I have Internal Speakers and it works, but if I plug the HDMI in the HDMI output shows up in Sys Pref -> Sound, but it won't play through it.

Anyway, none of this is a big deal unless you have ideas to try.  I feel so grateful for all you and Herve have done already.

One last thing,  I would like to write up installation instructions on this site to help the next person, but I don't know all the patches you've made to kexts and DSDT.  Namely the kexts you sent this morning.  Also, when I upgrade to 10.10.5, I'll certainly have issues.  What are your thoughts?

    Bob
