  1. For those who would like to install Mac OS using Clover on a D630 (or others), test the following link : http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/compatibility/ Select your model then download the appropriate bootpack. There is a preconfigured config.plist inside the bootpack (it must be modified according to your system).
  2. I was not arguing, just relating some facts, politely. I don’t use forums to spend the time of others expressing my distress, but to learn and exchange, with respect. If this simple attitude is normal for a user, it should be mandatory for an administrator, don’t you think?
  3. So what I said is correct, it does modify the /S/L/Extensions, even if the modification is not applied on an Apple kexts. It does removes up to tree Apple kexts from /S/L/E after installation and it merge kext from /Extra to /S/L/E when running myFix... Anyway, it took me FIVE hours only to transfer the system from the usb installation key to the disk using Myhack (It took 30 minutes to do it with Clover). Then, I was not able to start the system without using the "-f" flag (stuck on "missing bluetooth controller", it is a graphical problem). I tried "-v", "GraphicsEnabler=no" (or "yes"), nv_disable=1, still stuck at the same level. After running "myFix - FULL" and restarting, the problem was not solved, I still have to use the "-f" flag. Thanks for the help you offer me but I don't know how to reach your bootpacks. I checked your profile page but I didn't found them there. Hellas I don't know how to tune a config.plist for my machine, it could take some time if I have to do it from scratch. I see that you have the same machine as mine in your list, don't you use clover on it? Don't you have a config.plist that I could use? Cheers.
  4. Thanks for the answer. I verified the bios settings. Fast boot was not on "Minimal" (set), but the rest was ok. I have installed E.D.P. on it and, after a few restart, it is now working, no more hatching when using vrm-box. But, I have to use a mouse (trackpad is very slow), it is taking 4 minutes to boot, so I'll reinstall using Myhack. I did it mainly because Clover allows vanilla installation, Myhack is modifying /S/L/Extensions. Have a nice Sunday.
  5. Dear Forum, I need to install Mavericks or Yosemite on my laptop in order to use an usb audio box called VRM-BOX from Focusrite (support stopped). I decided to give Mavericks a try and, because I like to take some risks, I decided to install it using the last version of Clover (Clover_v2.4k_r4114). I first copied the Mavericks installation image to an usb drive using terminal command (formatted using MBR). Then I installed Clover on the usb drive and copied the dsdt.aml, HFSPlus.efi, and all the kexts present on this site for my model to the appropriate folders of the usb drive. The Clover settings are : "Bootlaoder (boot0af)" - "CloverEFI 64 - bits SATA" - "Driver64 UEFI (OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 - CSMVideoDxe-64 - PartitionDxe-64)" I inserted the usb drive inside the D630, started the machine and changed the bios settings according recommandations. After restart I pressed the F12 key to bring the boot menu and selected the usb drive. Clover's boot loader appeared and I selected the first option (Maverick Installation). It took around 45 minutes to complete and, after restart, I reached the Welcome window. After another restart I installed clover on the system disk and (after reboot) I was able to start the system using clover via the system disk (around 35 sec to boot). Everything was perfect until I installed the VRM-BOX driver and made some test. If the device is off (no room effect), the audio is played correctly (although with a little bit of distortion). If the device is switched on, audio is hatched, with long gaps of silence. I verified the cpu charge, it is not overloading. I tried a different usb port, but it is the same result. Could it be related to a lack of power available on usb ports? Could it be solved by installing E.D.P. or another kext? What about config.plist? I still have the original one, I have not found a proper one for my system. Could it help to change it? Should I try myhack? Thanks for watching.
  6. Yes, the fan cable is properly connected, it is spinning "normally", very fast during boot, slowing down after a few minutes. HWmonitor indicates normal temps (under 65°). During troubleshooting I did check how was thermal paste on the cpu. It's fine (a very tin layer covering all the surface of the cpu). The problem is probably heatsink related (for north and south bridges). I'll order a set of differents copper shims and make some tests. I'll let you know. Thank U very much for the reply.
  7. I made a mistake. After verification it appears that the pad is missing on the north bridge, not the south one. The blue pad (south) is still there, but in bad shape.
  8. Is it something like the following? : https://www.amazon.fr/TOOGOO-Dissipateur-Cuivre-thermique-15mmx15mm/dp/B01MDK1CZQ/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1495737525&sr=8-3-fkmr0&keywords=copper+shims+D630
  9. Thank U for the information. I was not sure about a relation between lack of pad and shutdowns because the fan should normaly speen very fast before it shutdowns (it is not the case, I wonder why?). I don't have the pad anymore, it felt into pieces, dust, during removal of the heatsink. I have to buy a new one (is a copper shim a better solution?) and I would like to have the dimension of this pad, or a reference, if possible.
  10. Hello, I have changed the fan of my D630. Everything went fine but now when I start the machine, it is booting alright but doing a hard shutdown after approximately 15 minutes of use if I start the system (Maverick) and 5 minutes if I just enter the bios. I used K5-PRO thermo pasta on the cpu and on one bridge (south one I think), and after checking again I could see that the pasta is well spread around the cpu but not so well around south bridge. I have followed the right procedure to fix the heat sink (1-2-3-4). Still it is crashing. Might it be related to the fact that I replaced the pad on the south bridge with thermo pasta? If yes, could someone tell me which pad should I buy to replaced it? Thanks
  11. Yes, you are right, IDA is enabled, but it does not affect the behavior and it helps to keep temps a bit lower. I did not changed the settings of CPUSensors plugin's .plist file, it was already set on "100". Anyway, I did myfix again and changed IDA settings. The result is the same (CPU=66° - GPU=77° IDLE). I changed the value to "0" in order to troubleshoot, ran myfix (always using "full"), but te result is exactly the same. It is not very important because the real temps are like before, it is just strange.
  12. Hello guys, Thanks for all your answers. I have edited the cpusensors plugin's plist and I have the value "100" for Tjmax. <key>PlatformString</key> <string></string> <key>Tjmax</key> <integer>100</integer> Still, HWmonitor is giving wrong temps (74° for GPU and 68° for CPU (idle), Cpu multiplier is "x3" or "546 Mhz"). I have replace the thermo pasta a few month ago and real temperatures are very low (fan is spinning at the lowest speed). so for sure, HWmonitor is not indicating the real temps. HWmonitor version is 6.11.1328 but I have not found the way the discover what is Fakesmc version? Any idea?
  13. Hello, I have succesfully installed Mavericks on my D630-Nvidia. I have used EDP to install kext and others. Myfix was stuck (wrong answer when waiting for "Yes" or "No"), so I did it manually via the application. After reboot, everything was working fine except for HWMonitor which displayed very high temps for CPU and GPU (above 95º celsius). I did a update of the HWMonitor and after reboot, the temp is still very high (around 70º). Under Lion, the temp was around 45º in the same condition. Could it be related to cpu being always at the highest frequency? I used to have an app to control the cpu rate under Lion. Is still available for Mavericks? I have not found it under EDP. Anyone to help me out?

    EDP 3.0 Released

So far it is working fine with EDP3. Thanks to you guys! The only little problem appears when I try to scroll a window with the arrow keys, it is dramatically slow. It is the same when I move into text, very slow. I have put the key repetition at max but it is not better. Any idea? I would like to try another kext but the new installer does not seems to allow this.

The trackpad is working now. I had to disable the 2 fingers gesture in the trackpad option. I guess my trackpad is not adapted to use this feature (too small). Still, I have this problem with the wifi dongle (DLINK DWA-131 - realtek 8192su). I have started the machine with arch=i386 and -v but it is the same, KP before login screen. If I plug it in after logging screen it is working perfectly, the app load automatically and connect to the router. I just have to remove it at boot time so it is not too bad, just a bit frustrating.
