  1. I have a Lenovo G550 and I researched online for the kexts and stuff for the laptop. I am using myHack to make the USB installer. I can get everything to work except for the sound and display. The sound does't work in OS X. The display works but it is not at full resolution (1366 x 786) and there is not graphics acceleration. Does anyone know how to fix this. I am currently working on OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5. Here is where I got the kexts. http://www.osx86.net/files/file/950-all-the-kexts-files-for-lenovo-g550/
  2. Something I have thought of for a long time is modding my Dell Latitude D830 Quadro NVS 135M OS X Mavericks to look like a Macbook Pro. I know I can't make the laptop sleek and made out of aluminum, unless I go extravagant and make a 3D CAD and make new connections for everything by repositioning every port and connect them with wire, 3D print a new chassis to look like a Macbook Pro, use electrostatic to make an aluminum plating. But that is beside the point. I am wanting to make a mod to make the front of my D830 to have the Apple logo on it to light up. I'm making a 3D drawing of it right now. I have researched that the apple logo light comes from the backlight from the LCD. I'm going to order a new lid off of eBay and make an Apple logo cutout of it. Then I'm going to see if there is enough light from the backlight in the LCD to light up the Apple logo. If not, I measured the power light in the right hinge the see how much voltage it is and 2.0V is the currency. I will then put some LEDs in the Apple logo to light it up. But that is the scenario I will have to go with if I can't light the Apple with the backlight. If you have any suggestions for me, or if you are wanting to try this project, comment!
  3. New hard drives made today are made with 4k byte sectors instead of the 512 byte sectors. With this new type of sector, boot loaders will not work from your hdd, you can only boot from your install usb. I have done some research and found the solution! I had the same problem and fixed it. Hopefully it helps you to! 1) Boot with your install USB into the Mac OS X Installer. 2) Go to Disk Utility, click on your Mac OS X Partition on your HDD and press info. 3) Write down the disk identifier, close Disk Utility and open Terminal. {In the next steps replace <diskid> with you disk identifier. It should look like this disk0s2} 4) Then type this without the quotes "umount /dev/<diskid>" Then press enter 5) Then type this without the quotes "dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/r<diskid>" then press enter 6) Type Exit, then press enter and close terminal. 7) Shutdown you computer and boot from your HDD. You should now be about to boot from you HDD without any problem!

  5. I have a Dell Latitude D830 with Nvidia Quadro NVS 135 graphics. It has 4GB of RAM and an Intel Core 2 Due CPU 17300 @ 2.00GHz. I am trying to install Mac OS X Lion on it. I downloaded Lion 10.7.0 and used a 16GB flash drive to use myHack with it. I ran myHack with the Lion dmg and then installed Chameleon v2.2svn r2254 on it with this configuration Then I go back and install the extra folder for Dell Latitude D830 Nvidia Graphics Lion onto the usb flash drive with myHack. After that I plug in the flash drive to my D830 and boot it with the USB. I let it boot but it can't make it to the installer. I get a kernal panic. What am I doing wrong? Please Help!!!
