  1. I got Inspiron 530 MT again. I fitted X5270 again, works great also. I installed Yosemite clover no issue, but I tried out with El capitan. I never seen G33M02 worked with it before.
  2. HI, I made this list, All of results are tested by my self. I think If his motherboard is G33M02, I didn't tested with E5450. If it would work with C0 stepping quad Xeon, I should fix this lists. Donnie said G33M02 work only dual core, I believed that. Because I tested X5470 was not work with it. I'm no idea about microcode on the bios. Herve's link is very interested for me. Someone add a quad core microcode for G33M02 BIOS like a G33M03(VOSTRO400). But in the G33M02, Motherboard hardware capacitors are different from G33M03. I wanna know how stable is it if put a quad core xeon. But I think your intuition is correct. G33M02 and G33M03 is very close specification. I never seen before G33M03 on the Inspiron 530 or VOSTRO 200, But is not strange, If DELL sold that other world aria. I'm not sure about that.
  3. Hi, I have not tested E5450 on Vostro 200, I only tested X5470 in it. But very nice news for me, And interested about that. If I have a chance to have a Vostro 200 again, I will test it. Of course new bios also. Thank you for interested for this mod PS: I think latest LGA775 mother board chipset is not better for LGA771 mods. But some could be run with only C0 stepping CPU.
  4. This is Enlish version from my blog. If you are Japanese, See my blog first. I hope it seem to be valid report. I always said my english is very bad and sorry if read it. LGA 775 / Quad Core CPUs are already old school but very popular even now, Hi-end CPUs has been sold expensive. But, How about a LGA 771 for saver computers? These are very cheep at the eBay price. For example, Q9650 is about for $90-. But same specifications X5450 is for about a $30-… And I would like to say, These XEONs are very superior for over clocked, It’s gonna be stable if use the middle of summer. *Almost Dell models are locked CPU clock without modded bios. See my table * This table will be update If add a verified CPU or some modification. UPDATED 2014 SEP. 3 Each models and motherboard name, Chipset and possible LGA775 CPU to mount, Already tested LGA 771 XEON CPU, Max TDP are listed. And Network, Audio chip, Possibility for AHCI at the BIOS, Boot confirmation to OSX versions are listed. Use it as reference. * Some desktops were already sold, I began to listing this recently. Specialy install to OSX, You can find out almost of Dell desktop models in this forum. Skillful users are explain them. Thy are better than me. Few DELL desktops are not supported Quad core, But they possible to put Quad core truly. You can confirm at my table. Things to prepare 1, LGA 771 to 775 adapter : Find it from eBay. Prices are from only for $2.00-. I bought from Greek seller. He gave me a XEON decal ! Of course I have no relationship with them, You can choice as you like. 2, Sure you should have a LGA 771 XEON CPU. It seem to be better to choice a X5460 if your DELL is in my list, Is necessary cost performance in it, Used prices are very cheap at eBay for $30-. 3, DELL Desktops of my recommended, I trust these are very cheep at the used computer market on your country aria. How to mods 1, Remove your LGA775 CPU. This pic of desktop is Inspiron 545s. 2, Cut off the 2 keys on the CPU socket. Cut off very carefully and never tach the pins. I used Japanese little chisel.*I recommend single edge. Up side And down side Be carefully to other parts of your mother board. 3, Set a LGA 771 to 775 adapter. Adapter has 2 double sided tapes. Do not slip off to stick on your CPU. Every hole should be see a dot patterns to offset a CPU. Fit a triangle marking to same angle. If you have no triangle marking, You can find an arrow marking on your adapter. Fit an arrow to triangle marking. 4, Set a CPU to socket. Keys are already cut off, Carefully to fit a triangle marking to same angle. Double check the KEY could not be a burr. It should be fit perfectly. 5, Rest a CMOS, And Pull of a coin battery, Wait 1 min or more. 6. Coin battery Back to the Mother board, Power on your computer, Push the F12 key at the boot screen. It’s gonna be fine if check in the BIOS screen. Notes I knew it and have been tested at last year end, I have not too much skills. That’s the way to already old saw a Donnie’s web site. I have been just fun to tested many Dell desktops to install a OSX10.8 to 10.9.4 as repetition. I succeeded 11 DELLs my self, But I’m not sure the point perfectly also. I’m not hacker, I didn’t know the point a lot too. CAUTION If exchanged to LGA771 Xeon on your DELL, When chameleon placed to PCIrootUID 0 to 1 or 1 to 0. If you try this mods after finished installation a OSX, Change a boot option. I’m not sure this construction. nForce motherboard hasn’t correctable motion if over clocked. If you already succeeded with LGA 775, That’s deferent with LGA771 put your DELL. Almost DELL desktops locked a clock, If you haven’t correctable clock shows on your system, Edit a smbios.plist>MaxCPUSpeed. If your CPU is 3.33GHz, Add a 3330 in it.*4 decimal places. This LGA775 to 771 adapter contraction by Donnie’s web site, I asked him when I make a link. I showed him my list, He said “It looks good from what I can tell so far. I usually update the tested motherboards list once a week. I’ll look over it more then and let you know if I notice any problems.†Of course he is not Macintosh user like me also you too. He made a tool to add a microcode, He introduce very particularly… Inspiron 535 runs Geek bench, Better result with X5470 3.33GHz. Thanx for read this topic. Hope you enjoy your Hackintosh old school build.
  5. I've been forget how to install it, But I think I tried out install with Mavericks. I installed Mountain Lion 10.8.5. I'm really forget a details...Sorry for that. I remember I saw Administrator Herve's 1st link is very helpful and you can do that. I experienced nForce 680i and 650i. *I look over them, They recommended Asmedia chip like me ! I thought I didn't over clocking with it, But I putted XEON X5365 work. It seem to be useless, attached the pix.1st one is the Core 2 duo E6700, Second is XEON X5365. Work with XPS720. Try it your next steps.
  6. Try to add these combinations for boot flags listed bellow: PCIrootUID=1 or PCIrootUID=1 npci=0x2000 or PCIrootUID=1 npci=0x3000 or npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000 Elementary sets are, PCIrootUID=0 npci=0x1000 I think.
  7. I succeeded XPS720 with Mountain lion 10.8.5 before. XPS720 chipset is not made from Intel. Install method is little changed from others. You have to put a lot of kexts for S/L/E after installed... Set a SATA = IDE in the bios, Make a MBR installer *Maybe possible to install for GPT (?) Patched IOATAFamily.kext for E/E USB stick. Or SATA3 card to set a AHCI automatically as very easy, see my thread. Sorry for I couldn't try now and am sold XPS720 is too big for my house. Go 4 it!
  8. X5270 is more faster but is little bit. OK, I'm gonna make an another thread, Talk about that if move to there. PS: I will fix some uncorrectable explain for my 1st topic. have a nice day!
  9. OK, I wanna tell you Vostro 400 and Inspiron 545 are same circuit board, I succeeded they are same method to install OSX without network. >I think that was reported for other Dell desktops like some Optiplex 745 or 755. I didn't know that, That's sound very interesting for me. They need also SATA3 card. My DELL's start point is little deferent from other guys. I'm Mac Pro user and had thinking up grade it everyday. LGA771 XEON cpu can install on many DELL desktops. And they can also run OSX. Gigabyte and Asus...Them mother boards are similar with OSX, But they does not to work OSX if put a XEON. PS: Do you still have a vostro 200? You can use X5270 ( 3.5GHz 6M-cache ), If you have a any time to try it.
  10. Oh boy!!! I tried many times, I don't know why I didn't. I'm gonna try it soon. This thread is kind of useless...Sorry for that About 10 min latter... I tried out, Installer doesn't see HDD even if set to RAID. I used MyHack latest one 10.9.1 on the USB stick. That's also shorter way to use SATA3 Asmedeia card. Vostro 200 is the G33M-02 motherboard, I had it was long time ago. I forgot How to Install to use with it. Vostro 200 was succeeded with RAID That can be possibly so. I think flashed a AHCI BIOS soon after bought that... Vostro 400 is G33M-03 Motherboard for QuadCore, Little deferent I think. Thank you for tell me. I'm very happy to confirm the installer. I appreciate to care my thread
  11. Thanks for your experienced comment as prompt action. OK, I already tested Vostro 200 and Inspiron 530. I know that's works very well with modded BIOS from BIOS-MODS forum. You can check a lists, I made it. But is for LGA 771 to 775 relation to OSX. I will post another thread. I tested G33 mother board without AHCI mods, A RAID mode to set also, I didn't succeeded with IOATAFamily mods on these DELLs. I'm not sure before ~ OSX10.7. *And additional to say, See my list, I succeed to set a RAID few DELLs works no issue... Let me know if you found my misunderstanding without my very bad English...lol
  12. I changed title of this topic. Aug 22. This is my first thread, Take it easy Some DELLs has no AHCI in the BIOS, IT’s famous first wall to install OSX, All you already know very well. OK, I would like to say few G33 DELL PCs are not available to Mods IOATAFamily.kext. I tried out Vostro 400 and Inspiron 545. *and maybe Vostro 410. I’m not sure if possible to install as other way. Some DELL PCs are not available to IOATAFamily.Kext ( Patched AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext ) , Or Installer didn't see boot storage at the installer screen if you set a SATA mode to RAID. I confirmed VOSTRO 400 and INSPIRON 545 are like that. Optiplex 745 / 755 are seem to be same result, But they are not my experience. But don’t worry about that, Our only hope is SATA 3.0 card used Asmedia chip. My chip is ASM1061. You can buy at the Amazon USA. I have one bought from Japanese amazon, Japanese version has changed pats a little bit. I believe USA version card should works same, These are seem to be same circuit board and chip. *Japanese has output e-Sata to switching. I used 2 slots Graphics card, So I mod extension PCI-e, see my pic. *I always hope some experienced guy make a new AHCI bios to those PCs. Installer could see AHCI storage through this SATA card, Works OOB. No need to extension kext and other tools. You should add a IOAHCIBlockStorageinjector.kext since post install to see built-in storage not removable one. For Example: *Vostro 400 is almost same method, But you can use Vostro 200 DSDT is completely same. Model: Inspiron 545s CPU: X5470 3.33GHz with LGA771 to 775 adapter *I will make a new topic of LGA771 mods for Hackintosh Compatible list. Graphics: Geforce GT610 HDD: SiliconPower S55 240GB SATA: SATA3 Asdedia PCI-e card. Pre install: OS Helper: MyHack *Chameleon boot loader Boot options: -v npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=No (*PCIrootUID=0) Post install: Restart/shutdown: EvOreboot.kext Removable Strage to onboard strage: IOAHCIBlockStorageinjector.kext SSD Trim support: Trim Enabler Network: RTGMAC_V2.0.6 Audio: VoodooHDA-V2.8.6.pkg Check the Boot option of Chameleon.boot.plist, listed bellow: GUI Time out = As you like kernel : mach_kernel use kernel cash npci=0x2000 darkwake=0 Ethernet built in Restart fix Generate P-state Generate C-state *GT610 to set: GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRoot=0 Works perfect, No issue. SATA card didn't give full performance of latency. PCI-e's transfer capacity is very lower, but work well. I think you don't feel it slow.
