  1. No, that's the first thing I checked. Good point though.
  2. I'm having the same issue but the above fix doesn't seem to work for me. I have a Dell Precision M4300 and I removed the AppleACPIPlatform.kext from /E/E and verified that the original was still in /S/L/E. When I do that not only does it still lock up when I put it to sleep but I lose my sound as well. I'm running Mavericks 9.2 (not an upgrade) with the M4300 EDP from this site. Any ideas?
  3. Has anyone had any luck getting an Atheros AR5BXB72 working in a Dell Precision M4300 running OS X 9.2? I replaced my old DW1390 (b/g) with the Atheros (a/b/g/n) but OSX never allows me to use it. If i do a "lspci -nn" from the shell the Atheros shows up just fine. I edited the AirportAtheros40 kext and verified the DeviceID (168c:0024) was present. However, when I go in to System Preference the hardware tab is grayed out and the wireless is off. Clicking "Turn on wireless" has no effect. In the BIOS the Dell shows the Wireless device as an "Unknown Device". I've tried two different AR5BXB72 cards, one Apple branded and one Toshiba branded. Both have the same problem. I've seen other articles where people have gotten this card to work in other machines.
  4. Thanks for the link. Actually I was able to get all of my problems fixed. The touchpad problem was that I had to disable "Use two fingers to scroll" in the "System Preferences/Touchpad" The boot to black screen was solved by patching the DSDT.aml file. There's a section where I had to change "NVDA,Quadro" to "NVDA,Parent" The Bluetooth Assistant I was able to disable under System Preferences.
  5. I used myHack and the EDP pack from this site to install OS X Mavericks to my Dell M4300. The install went great and everything seemed to install as expected. However, after the install there are a couple of problems I'm running in to. The first is related to the track pad and keyboard. My track pad doesn't seem to work all the way. It works fine up to the login screen. After I enter my password and log in the track pad stops working. The track pad buttons still work and the internal keyboard works. It just doesn't respond to finger movement. Also I get a popup every time from the Bluetooth Assistant saying there is no keyboard (oven though it does work) and I have to connect a USB keyboard to get it to not come up. My second issue is that occasionally when I boot it goes past the apple screen and so on and when it comes to the point where the gray screen with a mouse cursor is supposed to appear I get a blank black screen. This doesn't happen at every boot and if I shut down and restart a couple of times it comes up fine. Any ideas?
