  1. Repaired permissions. Now it KP's even sooner in the boot process and without a text backdrop. hmm. I vaguely remember seeing something about C state error in the original KP, which made think something was wrong with the BIOS? But I can't find any options related to that in the BIOS. Probably unrelated. Sorry about the user-name change. I have different accounts on each computer and I forgot to log off here. I'll respond with Materia from now on, since I can't delete this post.
  2. Ah, that explains so much. I don't know why mine flickers too, but I suppose it's expected with these kind of installations. I tried the sleep trick and it does help me gloss over the problem for now. Thanks for the help.
  3. Unfortunately, it didn't resolve the problem. Thanks for the suggestion though. Edit - Very odd behavior. The brightness will be perfect throughout the entire "OSX Latitude loading screen", but as soon as it hits the login, the brightness goes down and the function key stops working. It's not until I bring up Preferences and manually adjust the brightness in System Preferences is when the function keys start working again.
  4. Nevermind! Got it to work. Had to go to System Preferences > Displays. Then move the brightness slider all the way to the right (i.e. MAX) After that, my screen illuminated with brightness! Also, I could finally manually adjust the brightness with fn+dim/bright keys (which didn't work before). All in all, I guess the GMA Brightness Fix is already integrated into the latest EDP build, but for me, I just had to go in System Preferences to take advantage of it. EDIT: Hmmmm, wait, it seems like the brightness settings reset every time I boot my laptop. I have to go to System Preferences and adjust the brightness manually every time. Maybe I DO need the GMA fix? And if so, where is it located in EDP? I looked under "fixes" and I can't find it.
  5. I can't seem to find "GMA 950 brightness fix" anywhere on the current EDP build. Do you know if the developers renamed it? My display is very dim at the moment.
