I thought only the D630 had the black screen issue, but I could be wrong of course... Never had it on my D620 nVidia and I initially set it up with SL through ModCD.

 

On the D630 Intel HiRes, with SL installed through ModCD, the black screen issue could be temporarily fixed by hooking an external screen to the laptop and using that screen as display during boot process. On boot completion, display would return to laptop LCD.

 

To fix that issue, you just need to place the appropriate DSDT table in /Extra. Get it off the Bootpack available on this site. To boot without ModCD, you need to install Chameleon on your HDD.

 

From memory, but that goes back to me very early attempts to install SL, you can install EDP on a ModCD installation. Although, may be not with legacy kernel, I can't remember...

 

I would really recommend that once you have a ModCD installation working, you make a new USB installation pen with myHack.

But the problem is that i cant get myhack to see my jump drive

Hey guys, I got OSX installed on my d620. When i reboot it will load and when it goes to the main screen, my screen goes black, the only way it would boot is to use the modCD. Anyone have any clue to fix this? I installed my EDP figuring it will fix it but not it just kernal panics, tells me i need to hit the power button. Anyone have a fix for this?

Ok, never mind that last post. It KPed when i try to boot it, and froze when i tried to boot from the cd. So untill i figure out about the myhack thing i got windoze on it

Ok, I got OSX installed corectly, i think?! I was unable to do the my hack thing due to the fact that it wouldn't see my jump drive, I have another one just lost it. But I installed the edp and everything on to this native install. I think everything works, wifi, sound, etc. Did I do something wrong or is this ok?

ok, is there another way to install it other than the usb method. I got my laptop today, got xp on it now wanting to do a dual boot setup. Actually typing this on it. BTW Intel graphics

I don't consider myself a noob on computers and windows, But i'm somewhat on OSX install. My main thing is i want EVERYTHING to work, including the fingerprint scanner. so could you give my a step by step (or link to one) for my system. I will be installing Snow Leopard.

Hey guys, First i'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad i found this site, I just purchased a d620 off ebay for $109. So far i unaware for what kind graphics card it has ( will find out when i get it) I have a iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) cd, will that cd work or do i need to get a usb to install SL? I would like lion or moutian lion but have a copy for Snow
