Hello Everyone, thanks for your advice. @Jake Lo - I haven't been able to find a place to download Mavericks for free. Yosimite I was able to find, but it requires a working system. @ Hervé can you point me to a how-to article for #1 making a copy of my usb stick (dd?) and how to convert that copy to a bootable full installer? Thank you in advance.

I also have an Apple Lion USB stick, but it requires 10.6.8 to be installed, which I can never get to. Thoughts?

Hello Hibriham and Corporal, I have the same laptop and I've never been able to install 10.6.3 or move forward. It freezes partway through the install process and after a while, reboots. I have tried booting -x -v -f and a number of combinations, acpi=off GraphicsEnabler=No Do you have a step by step? Best Regards
