I know this may be a stupid questions, but how can I find out the chipset type? Please bear with me as I have been removed from this type of activity for some time.

Yosemite is what I am trying to install. I removed the module and it still black screens, but I cannot see at what point in the loading process. The e1000's load a few lines before the darkness comes.

Alright, so I tried Herve's guide and the initial boot process halts at the AppleKextExcludesList kext. and then black screens. This is proving rather challenging. Any ideas? HD3000, i5 2520m E6420

Just the HD3000, but I cannot seem to locate NullCPU at this time. Any help is greatly appreciated

I love the Internet when it comes to help and research. I acquired an older Latitude E6420 with bios A08 and attempted the install a few days ago. My issue is com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement KPs when I attempt to install. The point of KP is not always the same, depends on which boot flags I used (cpus=1 or the like). Any ideas? I remember power management was always a pain, but my last install was 2008 so I am rusty. The laptop has a a i5 2520 proc.
