  1. FYI, no success with Sierra... Any good guides for upgrading through AppStore? Should I keep all the kext/other? Should I put there also the L*/E* kexts ? Or only FakeSMC? RTVariables? And should I boot with or without kexts injected? I use the newest Clover, btw, and with the EFI I boot into El Capitan, I got reboots when I "Install OS from HD"...
  2. Went through the full setup. Audio still does not work I did notice that layout thing in DSDT is different, changed it with maciASL (like in a post above), but when I tried to compile, I got 14 errors... I commented out the lines with errors, compiled it and IT WORKED. 12 GB RAM on external SSD and it's faaaaaast (will move the disk inside nowadays But the track pad just stopped working (had to use a mouse instead). It fixed itself after reboot. Didn't test sleep&wake, though. Huh, I noticed in the Guide that there's no sudo in front of ./ssdtPRGEN.sh? Is it needed? Now I'm downloading macOS Sierra from AppStore. We'll see what'll happen. Jake Lo, THANK YOU! Again and again.
  3. Yes I did. But I tried three quick installs just to check if audio will play at the first setup screens (Realtek ethernet worked in setup screens after I included proper kext in the bootpack, I thought it might be the case with the audio, too). But ALC 283 didn't. I'll be more thorough today and finish all. BTW, I tried to use macOS Sierra GM files in your guide (instead of El Capitan), too. It just rebooted at the ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I removed one DIMM, but to no avail, so I reverted to El Capitan ...
  4. Ok, but the original location of ALC 283 kext in the bootpack is in Other/LE? I was just replacing that :S Will check later... Forgot to ask are there any macOS upgrade/install successes, yet?
  5. Three reinstalls later (with the newest, with mine and the first ALC 283 kext in LE) and still no audio after installation. Maybe I should put it in Other (on my Yosemite it's in SLE)? Or go through MaciASL step.. ah, the ethernet works
  6. Well, fixed the ethernet Couldn't fix the audio though, sleep & wake do not work... Anyway, I'm prepared to redo the installation from the beginning. Should I put the Realtek kext on the installation USB somewhere, like /CLOVER/kexts/other/LE and, also, replace the ALC 283 kext file from the guide bootpack with the one that is working on Yosemite in the same folder? Anything else to carry on from Yosemite? And, can I update to Sierra after I get El Capitan going? And thanks a lot for all the help! You are just fabulous!
  7. It's Broadcom DW1705 for wifi and Bluetooth, Realtek RTL8168GU/8111GU ethernet (it works like that in 10.10.5) . About the audio (which you helped me fix it in 10.10.5 over TV) - I did it few times. Like puting the newest ALC 283 in L/E, rebuild, with and without cache. I moved it to S/L/E, and it is the same. I did ssdtprgen (MBA 6,2), moved the file in the patched on boot EFI, will do it again to make sure it's ok.
  8. Anyone managed to use https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-precision-el-capitan-clover-guide/to install El Capitan on Latitude 3440? I did, but the Ethernet's not working, no Audio, no sleep&wake, no Bluetooth, didn't check the card reader... I followed the steps, used bootpack, updated the ALC283 kext, everything... Twice. But to no avail.
  9. So, THANK YOU A LOT, Jake Lo. Thank you. My machine works really good, graphics, audio, ... You are really helpful (and I should notice that all .kext files are loaded...). Again, any way to donate to osxlatitude or cause of your choice? I can paypal a beer or two, really
  10. Thanks a million! Followed the instructions and now, after scrambled screen (nothing to worry about) - brightness seems to work from System Preferences, but the function key for lower brightness (F4) gets stuck and the screen is blacked out, graphics card shows HD4600 with 1,5GB (and it is FAAAST), sleep is the same (turns off the screen but seems on) and for the audio it says: The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA_ALC283.kext†was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update. What should I do next? I tried to fix permissions and rebuild cache, install it with Kext Wizard and fix perms and cache from there, but to no avail I do not have voodoo, applehda, ALC or anything with audio in loaded kexts... aaaanndd thank you!
  11. Thanks upfront! Here are the files origin copy.zip config ioreg.zip
  12. I used the guide on my Dell Latitude 3440. I got working Yosemite 10.10.5, except audio and the HD4400 is recognized as 4MB and I cannot change brightness (sleep does not work too). What next? The audio card is ALC3223, but on other forum is said that it is ALC283 in fact... Any suggestions how to proceed? And great job, folks! Seems the best forum for my laptop
