Hello Jake. I had ig-platform-id set to 0x01660004, working flawlessly with 10.3.3. Now, with this id, HDMI output is not working. I've noticed now that if I change it to 0x01660003 I get HDMI working and macOS detects the two screens, but the internal LCD remains black. Backlight seems to work fine, if I use brightness control keys I can see how the backlight on the black screen dims or lights up. Also macOS detects the two screens, so the screen is somewhat working, but I can't see nothing. I've generated debug files, here they are. Thanks. debug_7054.zip

Hello. I've been using High Sierra 10.3.3 flawlessly on an E5430 i5 vPro 1600x900, using a dual monitor setup (external + laptop). Today I've updated to 10.3.4 and suddenly I can't use the external monitor. It remains undetected. If I use Fn+F8 to switch screen, the external monitor is activated but screen is garbaged, and I can't restore it until reboot, even if I switch back to laptop LCD by Fn+F8. I've been reading, updating kexts, updating Clover, checking config.plist, but I can't get this working. Any tips on what should I try next? Thanks.

Hello again, Jake. Yes, I've installed it, and I've rebuilt cache, getting error 17, but it's not working. But while trying I've noticed something. The problem with the HDMI video output wasn't the ig-platform-id, the problem is with the sound driver. When I changed ig-platform-id to 01660009, I also installed the AppleALC kexts to get some audio meanwhile, and in the next reboot worked audio and HDMI video output. But what was enabling HDMI was the AppleALC kext, not the ig-platform-id. Now, trying to reinstall AppleHDA_IDT to check if I rebuilt caches correctly, I was getting again the problem with HDMI. I've turned again to AppleALC (and turned ig-platform-id to 01660004) and I've got working HDMI.

Hello again. Now it's working!! I've just changed the 'ig-platform-id' on config.plist from 01660004 to 01660009 and it's working (for 30 minutes flawlessly). Now let's got for the sound, the e5530 bootpack doesn't work for sound. What could I try?

Hello Jake. I already have this on config.plist. I've used the e5530 bootpack and the patch are already in. I've noticed that it works fine with internal display, but as soon as I connect and HDMI display, the computer crashes and reboots instantly. Thanks.

Hello. I've installed Sierra on an e5430 (vPro, 1600x900, A12 BIOS). I've used the e5530 bootpack from clover guide and it works well enough. But HDMI output is not working. I'm trying to enable it, but I don't know exactly what to do. One thing I've tried is to use the AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext from here, but it does the machine to crash if I don't boot in safe mode. In safe mode it makes HDMI to work, but I have glitches and freezes. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks Jake, this works! But I only has the output device, internal speakers, I don't have any input device. Edit to explain details: With VoodooHDA (on other disk installation) I can use mic from iPhone headset. With this configuration the mic doesn't appear.

Hello Hervé. I don´t use VoodooSDHC, I don't use the card reader. For the VoodooHDA I've removed it and now sleeping work perfectly. But I can't get audio to work. I've tried: - The bootpack AppleHDA (the one post 10.11.4) - The patch suggestion from taddeusz - Your own suggested kexts Nothing works. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello. I've updated from El Capitan to Sierra. After fighting with VoodooPS2 and audio, I finally has it working fine except Sleep. When it goes to Sleep, I can't wake it up again, I have to power off it. My setup is the one from Jake's Lo guide, with Clover updated to r3799, the new VoodooPS2 from here and VoodooHDA for audio. What can I do? Thanks.

Hello again. I've found the solution. My disk was formatted using CoreStorage (it seems to be the default, for supporting FusionDrive), and it has to be disabled in order to boot in Legacy mode. The solution was to revert it: diskutil corestorage revert /dev/disk1 /dev/disk1 is a virtual disk created for corestorage, the physical disk is /dev/disk0. Thanks anyway!! Now I have to activate bluetooth, let's go!

Hello again Jake. BIOS is set to Legacy and AHCI (I can boot El Capitan on SSD using the install USB). I can't find anything about Secure Boot on my BIOS. More ideas? Thanks.

Hello Jake. I've done so, as this is what you say on your guide. But it can't boot, the disk is not detected as bootable. When I do this installation I get an empty EFI partition and an EFI folder on the OSX hd root. It's driving me crazy. I've been looking if BIOS has some settings that protects MBR or something so, but I don't find anything useful.

Hello. I've managed to install El Capitan on my E6420 (i5-2520M, HD3000, 1600x900). For now what I've done is to follow the Clover guide on this forum (https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-el-capitan-clover-guide/&do=findComment&comment=54621). I've used E6220 settings, and to support 1600x900 panel I've modified DSDT to enable DualLink, and for audio I've had to install VoodooHDA. By now it's working fine, but with a problem: I can't manage to boot Clover from the internal HDD, I have to boot from the installer USB. The installer USB is MBR formatted, and the internal HDD is GUID (it has to be GUID to install OSX). I've tried to: - Install Clover in legacy mode - Install Clover in UEFI - Create a UEFI entry in the BIOS And I can't boot. When it says 'attempted to boot UEFI volume from legacy mode' I try to boot UEFI (creating an entry in the BIOS) but then it says that can't find a boot device. And if I use F12 to select the UEFI entry, it goes black and never boots. Any hints? Thanks.
