I want to let you know I just upgraded to Sierra. Was quite painless with the help of of your guide, and the tips you gave me above allow me to have sound and I can plug in an external HDMI monitor. I am also quite amazed at the kexts you guys put out for modding the HDMI(and other modified kexts offc), as the latest Macbooks(2013?) dont even ship with a HDMI port . Well done. In your guide you mention that kexts from the EFI folder Other should be moved to the /L/E folder, which is was I did, The kexts that remain outside the Other folder, remain on the EFI boot partition. Is this the right way or should I move the other kexts to /S/L/E aswell? This question remains because I rebuild the cache for the /S/L/E/ folders aswell... Thanks alot.

Well there is a reason why I want to upgrade, because on of the audio plugins I use is currently not supported on El Capitan. Can I upgrade to Sierra and keep the files I currently have, and follow the exact same procedure as described in Jake Lo's guide?
-
I read Sierra is better for some audio applications. Is there actually any other reason why I should upgrade to Sierra?
-
Ok and that will fix the problems? Because at the moment I reverted back to El Capitan. I dont want to deal with the same problems, if you know what I mean

This is the output that gave when I repaired permission and rebuild the cache, for both L/E and S/L/E folders (as documented in your guide): rebuilding //System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext IOAHCISerialATAPI_Injector.kext kext file:///Library/Extensions/DisableTurboBoostBattery.kext/ is in hash exception list, allowing to load kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67030 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA2A for kext AppleHDA_IDT.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext AppleBacklightInjector.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext VoodooPS2ControllerR6.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext Lilu.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext IntelMausiEthernet.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext IntelGraphicsFixup.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext FakeSMC.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext FakePCIID.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext ACPIBatteryManager.kext KernelCache ID: B67178085BA9C792F6EFF5E910B007C6 kextcache updated critical boot files, requesting launchd reboot

Yes, Ive replaced the whole EFI folder which was on the USB , to the EFI partition on the OSX harddisk I have attached my EFI folder so you can take a look. Hopefully you can help me out. Thanks. EFI.zip

I allready did that... As you suggested, I've put all the the kexts which were on my EFI partition on my MAC drive. What I did as you, instructed: /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions The kexts that were in the Other folder, I have put them in S/L/E/. Still no sound, no HDMI video. I want to revert back to El Capitan. It worked perfectly fine before this. Having a second monitor is essential for me. I can't revert back to El Capitan because its not in the App Store for me. Thanks.

Which kexts specifically are you talking about? I did as instructed in the Guide: Copy kexts from /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions of Macintosh SSD.

Hi there, i installed sierra with the helpf from Jake Lo Guide. Everything is working fine it seems. Except when i plug in a external hdmi monitor, the laptop shuts off. Other problem i'm facing that sound does not work. For the installation I used the pack jake lo provided for sierra. I used the config.plist hi-res laptop has (intel 1600x900). I have no clue what to do at this point, can anyone help me out? Thanks

I tried bronxteck version, its working fine, However trackpad acceleration is very clunky, not really useable for me... I use a 6430 And I run el capitan, I loaded those touchpad settings mentioned in original post, is this suposed to be for sierra or something?

E6430: help with El Capitan installation
alexandervos replied to alexandervos's topic in The Archive
Yesterday, I could not open some applications saying , saying: "be sure to install any available updates osx". In the beginning of my installation I had turned all the options off from the App store ; e.g security updates, because I found the pop-ups about OS X sierra annoying Frustrated as I was that I could not open some applications, I had put the options back on again in the App store. It began with a software update which lasted about 5 minutes. Thats when the trouble started, I could not reboot into OS X ,I got a KP about cpu 2 and cpu 3 caller. i have now reinstalled OS X, and its working properly. But my question, whats the best practice in regards to turning updates on or off in the app store? I dont want sierra installed yet. But do I leave the other options on or off? -

Well i am back at the start now again, audio plugins are causing CPU overload when I placed this ssdt.aml in there. Edit: I removed the ssdt.aml Cpu is not overloading , and laptop is faster in general. What is happening? -
E6430: help with El Capitan installation
alexandervos replied to alexandervos's topic in The Archive
I have run the generator, it said it pasted the ssdt.aml in the extra folder. Could not find the extra folder. So I ran the ssdt generator script a couple more times. It appeared on my desktop and I pasted it in the ACPI folder. Can you confirm that my EFI folder now is correctly setup? Here it is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dipfn1df3nsiuxj/EFI.zip?dl=0 -
