  1. Hello Everyone,

BCM943602BAED installed on e7470. macOS Sierra 10.12.3 with latest Bootpack for e7470 (Sierra).

Kexts installed to /L/E and loaded:

    FakePCIID.kext

    BrcmPatchRam2.kext

    BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext

Bluetooth is working fine, but no WiFi, should be working OOB...

I try to install FacePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext and it was loaded, but still no WiFI.

I tried to add kext to patch for 5hgz for Poland region, but still nothing.

my e7470 cannot boot when I have lagacy boot option on in BIOS. If I disable it I can boot to Mac normally, not sure if it's related?

  2. No kext for DW1830. I'm aware of BrcmFirmwereRepo.kext and brcmPatchRAM.kext for Bluetooth. But Wifi should work anyway.

I removed patches from Clover Config.

  3. BIOS downgraded to 1.12.3, but still no ethernet.

No WiFi and Bluetooth. Very strange on e7450 Wifi worked OOB as you said. (same dw1830)

On my previous installation with Bootpack from El Capitan I managed to enable  brcmPatchRAM.kext (Bluetooth PAN was available in network settings), but not the BrcmFirmwereRepo.kext. WiFI was not available in previous installation and same in this one.

    Origin folder

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7lpnpvzjixpbp1o/AABiwKwvVyO3Nz-zfxIdMCUZa?dl=0

  4. ahhhh.... Thanks Jake Lo!

Do you have idea why my ethernet and DW1830 are not responding?

I tried install BrcmFirmwereRepo.kext and brcmPatchRAM.kext to /library/extensions and rebuild the cache.

    sudo chmod -Rf 755 /L*/E*
    sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /L*/E*
    sudo touch -f /L*/E*
    sudo chmod -Rf 755 /S*/L*/E*
    sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /S*/L*/E*
    sudo touch -f /S*/L*/E*
    sudo kextcache -Boot -U /

    sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

    sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

    sudo touch -f /L*/E*
    sudo touch -f /S*/L*/E*

But they not appear as a loaded kexts. I also tried install it with Kext wizzard to /system/library/extensions , but still the same.
  5. Hi,

    e7470 with DW1830.

macOS 10.12.3 installed without issues. Mac boot and I noticed problem with core storage.

I run diskutil cs revert /dev/disk1 from terminal and it worked. When I restart e7470 and tried to boot it from clover from usb installer I got error msg.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/uv2g9i24ifxr4cv/IMG_0228.JPG?dl=0

Before restart I noticed that ethernet is not working. Does it mean a problem with my DSDT?

I followed the guide and I used latest bootpack

  6. Correct. I removed it, rebuild permissions. Only difference Magic Keyboard, Mouse and Trackpad.are working now.

No kextToPatch in config.plist. BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext are installed.

    Airdrop - works both ways
    Continuity - partially working
    Universal Clipboard - not working
    Apple Watch auto-unlock not working
    Hotspot - working

find My iPhone works until restart

DW1830@BCM943602BAED require less patching. Same functionality as I had with dw1560. Ehh...

    UPDATE:

Sierra updated to 10.12.3, same problems

  7. I rebuild the permissions, but I noticed that FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext is still on the list, even if I removed it from /System/Biblioteki/Extensions/

    Is that correct?

And I another problem with Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard I'm not able to connect it. With iPhone and Logitech MX master mouse there is no problem.

  8. Hack running the DW1380 of course!

I removed all kext to patches from my config.plist. After reboot to macOS Sierra I still have working Wifi and Bluetooth.

    Airdrop - working both ways

Continuity - it's working, but slowly

Universal Clipboard - working from mac to iPhone, but not from iPhone to mac

    Apple Watch auto-unlock not working
    Hotspot - working

Currently only those kext installed for DW1830

    BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext

     BrcmPatchRAM2.kext

    FakePCIID.kext

No kext to patches in Cover config

  9. I removed FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext and update BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext, BrcmPatchRAM2.kext and FakePCIID.kext to latest version.

Wifi working, bluetooth also, but I noticed another issue with Find my iPhone. It can be enabled in iCloud settings and it's working until next restart. After restart it is set again to disabled.

    Airdrop - working both ways

Continuity - it's working, but slowly

    Universal Clipboard - not working

    Apple Watch auto-unlock not working

    bluetooth = 0a5c:6410

WLAN mounted in my e7450 and it worked with my previous settings from dw1560, Only in Windows 10 I had to replace the driver.

In macOS Wifi and Bluetooth are working.

    Airdrop - working both ways

Continuity - it's working, but slowly

    Universal Clipboard - not working

    Apple Watch auto-unlock not working

    I do have installed:

    BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext

    BrcmPatchRAM2.kext

    FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext

    FakePCIID.kext

As far as I understand I should keep FakePCIID.kext, BrcmPatchRAM2.kext,BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext. Can I remove the FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext?

How about kext patches in my config.plist can I remove them?

  11. Hey,

    I ordered a BCM943602BAED and I would like replace my BCM94352Z on Dell e7450.

I decided to replace it due to fact BCM94352Z was not properly working with Handoff (t was working from mac to iPhone, but not opposite way, also I had some problems with Universal Clipboard and auto unlocking function from Apple Watch).

My question is, if I remove all AirPortBrcm4360 entries from my config.plist would it be enough?

Kexts already installed and working with BCM94352Z

    FakePCIID.kext

    FacePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext

    BrcmPatchRam2.kext

    BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext

  12. You'll need the EFI Shell boot disk. Run setup_var 0x15b to see what value it outputs, same for 0x15c. If they are not 0x3, then change them.

In my experience while updating BIOS, the settings stick, but I read a member here said it somehow changed due to Windows update and not a bios update.

So it's better to be sure and check it.

After BIOS update settings will remain, but not if you reset your BIOS settings to defaults, then you need to change the 0x15c and 0x15b to 0x3 again.

  13. If your Clover is working fine and it's updated to latest version, you can create new Sierra USB stick and install it.

Just follow the Jake Lo guide point from 1-19, skip the bootloader part.

    https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8514-dell-latitude-e7450-el-capitan-clover-uefi-only/

You can also use the terminal command to cerate USB installer, but in my case, I had to connect my e7450 to ethernet cable, because it required internet connection during installation.

Can someone help me clarify the issue with dw1560? It looks good when I login to the system. Wifi 5ghz and Bluetooth seems ok, but when I'm on login screen there is only Wifi icon, but without connection? (please check attached screenshots).

    I'm able to use airdrop.

Continuity and handoff, seems like there re available, but not always I'm able to use them (icon appear, but when I click on it, nothing happen).

In system preferences/system report - handoff, continuity and instant hotspot are available,

My Wifi is set to US, should I change it to Polish/European setttings? I’m from Poland.

As you can see on the second screen my Apple Watch is trying to unlock the MAC, but it fail every time after sec and it ask for password.

  14. There is something wrong with my Smart Scroll?/trackpad after sleep and it's very strange. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. After wake there is no problem with keyboard. I can type my password and login.

I also tried to add Apple Magic Trackpad and it failed. I can see the device if I put in correct mode, but it failed when I try to connect to it.

I was able connect to my iPhone/handoff/continuity/airdrop works, so I'm quite sure that bluetooth works fine.

Also when I try to auto unlock with Apple Watch, there is a sign on screen that it's trying to unlock, but after few sec it failed and I need provide the password.

New Karabiner and your son file works  and I love the "PrtScr" mapping:)

    Bluetootj en2

    ethernet en0

    wifi en1

    iphone en3

Smart Scroll?/trackpad after sleep, maybe it has something in common with DualBoot macOS Sierra and Windows 10 on same drive. I need to test it, but it looks like problem not appear when I boot only to mac.

  15. No issue with touchpad here...

Yes, you are right. Ok, last question. How do you handle Brightness Control and Trackstick Scrolling?

Karabiner is not available yet for Sierra, or we have to wait?

  16. Wow, Guys!

This solved most of my problems, actually two remains.

First touch-pad after PC wakes from sleep and auto unlock with Apple Watch.

Do you have any advice for Touch-Pad?

Auto unlock act strange, whenever I try to enable it in System Preferences I get error regarding two-factor authentication.

I tried to disable it and enable it again, but same problem. Is there any difference between two step and two-factor authentication?

  17. Hi,
Managed to install macOS Sierra on e7450.
I installed Clover rev 3763 and copy the Bootpack from:
    https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-precision-el-capitan-clover-guide/&do=findComment&comment=54632

But I left original Boot folder from Clover rev 3763, the one provided with bootpack was not working for me.

E7450 restart when I clicked on Macintosh SSD after Clover shows up.

I copied to library/extensions below kexts from EFI/Clover/Kexts/other/LE (check screenshot)

    ACPIPoller.kext
    AppleHDA_ALC293.kext

    EAODFix.kext
    FakePCIID.kext

Touchpad stop to work when I wake the PC

I have to click power botton for a sec every time I restart PC, or if it goes to sleep, in order to get screen back to normal.

AppleHDA_ALC293.kext.zip installed with KextWizzard, speakers are available system preferences, but still no audio….

Another update: when PC wakes from Sleep, there is a pop up about ejected USB device.

I generated SSDT.aml and put it to EFI/Clover/ACPI/Patched

I uploaded my EFI folder and all screenshots to dropbox, feel free to download it:
