  1. Here is the SD Card reader. Unfortunately this laptop does not have HDMI out. Has VGA only (weird). So can't test that.
  2. That fixed it! Works great! Looks like everything except the card reader is working. Shows up in the USB devices but can't read cards. I want to do some more tests with sleep but nothing seems to cause it to panic or have issues so that is good as well. Played DVD's no problem - sound is decent as well. Face time works great! One last question about 10.11.4 - safe to install? Thanks for everyones help!
  3. Shows up under USB devices but nothing under bluetooth . Not able to turn it on through prefs. here is a screen shot.
  4. Thanks, that worked great. WiFi is up and running, but Bluetooth is not working. Worked fine with the last card but now it does not have devices associated with it.
  5. Thanks that version allowed me to decompile the dsdt file. When I paste the text in the patch window it does not let me apply the patch(does not show any changes in the bottom window either). I am using the DSDT file in the EFI partition (clover/acpi/patched) same one I attached in an earlier post. Is there something missing in the DSDT file that prevents me from applying the patch? Tried the original one from the zip file I got here as well. Same thing.
  6. Hi every time I try to load my DSDT.aml file I get a decompilation error with MaciASL and I cannot load the patch. Not sur.e why but searching for some time and testing different ones didn't seem to make any difference. I have attached the current files as well as a Origin zip file from Clover. I would like to get to learn more about DSDT files but now sure why it will not decompile... Thanks! Archive.ziporigin.zip
  7. Here is the IOreg File: IOReg_2_3540.zip
  8. Hi yes sorry typo - wasn't paying attention. I finally received the DW1550 and have installed and working with windows 7 but not OS X. What are the next steps to get it working? Thanks again!
  9. I just ordered a DW1550 after realizing that the Bluetooth was part of the DW1510. Duh. Hopefully not to much work to get it up and running. The non working SD card reader is a Realtek RTS5179 according to what is listed in Dell Support page for this specific service tag. Thanks!
  10. Okay so it looks like sleep mode is not working correctly. Not sure how it is actually supposed to work. If I leave the lid down for longer than a few minutes, when I lift the lid it boots from clover menu but I left a terminal window open and it was still open when it started. It does recover from display off mode when lid is up. But I have to hit the power button - space bar does not work. If I select sleep from the apple menu and then hit space bar that works only for the first few seconds then I need to hit the power button for it to come back. the commands from the instructions do not work - hybernatemode is not a supported command.
  11. SD Card is not working. Although I see it in sys info I can not pull up the card. Sleep seems to work fine. Left it for an hour - went off and I hit power button and came right back. Just closed the lid and waited 15 minutes and it came back perfectly. Guess I should let go to sleep over night and see. If I have a USB plugged in it barks about it not being unplugged properly - but only once. Yes shows up as HD4400 and no more garbage when it boots, clean screen.
  12. Thanks everything is working great. I found a couple of BCM4322 cards around but unfortunately full height not mini-pci So I am thinking of ordering DW1510 as the DW1550 has Bluetooth with it as well and I already have Bluetooth. The card reader didn't show up because it is a Realtek USB 2.0 and needed a SD card inserted. I copied a screen shot of the system info screen as well as another ioreg file. Thanks again! 3540-ioreg.zip Screen Shot 2016-03-15 at 2.38.49 PM.zip
  13. Okay got all of the files together. The Realtek chip is a ALC3223. I tried the Realtek Kext but that didn't work with my card. I have a few wireless cards around, but what is the best or most compatible card I can use. I have a DW1390 I can use while I order another one that supports higher speeds. DPCIManager screen shots.zip IoREG-3540.ioreg.zip Thanks for all your help.
  14. Okay so I have made some progress. I wanted the laptop to dual boot windows 7 and El Capitan using UEFI. Originally I had installed Win 7 64SP1 pro (dell OEM) in legacy mode. I backed up the windows installation and reinstalled using UEFI and the restored windows 7 - only the NTFS volume nothing else and windows 7 worked fine. But I could not get clover to see the windows installation. I could see it from the USB El Capitan boot installer but not from hard disk. Clover would not even start up if I booted from the SSD, I would only see the windows boot manager in the bios setup as well. Well after some research I found that by renaming bootmgrw.efi to bootmgrw-orig.efi in the microsoft/boot directory under the EFI volume. That fixed the issue and I could boot to either Mac OS or WIndows just in case someone else is looking to figure this problem out. I used clover configuration tool to mount the EFI volume to make the change. Still have some work to do to make clover pretty but that is minor. I have El Capitan working, but I have very few devices. Bluetooth and camera work. No network, wifi, SD card, audio etc.. Video card shows up as a 4600 but I see from others that that is normal. I have tried both of the 3440 files that I found on this site to get things working but not having any luck. Followed the installation guide to the letter. could not run one of the scripts since it required internet. Not sure what I should do now, what should my next steps be? Spec wise the laptop is a latitude 3540 with i5-4200U CPU, 8G Ram, 120G SSD, HD4400, Realtek PCIe GBE Ethernet, Dell 1705 Wireless I have attached the Origin files from clover in hopes that it may help. Thanks for any assistance Origin.zip
  15. Thanks for the replies, I finally got it to work. I had not included all of the efi files required. I managed to get it installed and rebooted - everything looked fine (had no network or wifi) and completed the post installation but now I only get grey screen when I try and boot from Hard drive (clover loads and when I select boot MAC OS X). Any suggestions?
