thanks, this one, the brightness works. but the sound is NOT working.

so, i have set DropOem=YES in ACPI\SSDT\ now. but, where are my vanilla ssdt files? there are whole bunch of other *.aml files in ORIGIN folder, but their names differently. I know I have the following in my patched folder, ssdt.aml ssdt-0.aml ssdt-1.aml ssdt-2.aml ssdt-6.aml

ok, I removed the one in /S/L/E, repair permission, and reboot, still no brightness. thanks for your prompt response, but I still can't make the brightness work. I mod the bios setting for the graphic issue to do the installtion. and here is my config.plist I installed the inteBacklight.kext to \L\E, and \S\L\E folder and repair the permission. I saw there is a PNLF setting in my config.plist, and I don't know if my DSDT has patched or not, because I download my DSDT from web to get my audio/battery work. thanks config.plist.zip

I have the Inspiron 5548 OSX 10.11.6 Clover 3974 Inspiron 5548 i5-5200u CPU Intel HDG5500 video 8GB memory 750GB HDD USB Wifi I have pretty much all working, but NOT the screen brightness. also, how can I check if the USB 3.0 port are really working in USB3.0 ? can any one help me? thanks,
