Thats really strange.. I have checked in windows and I cant see any bluetooth under devices. It is enabled in bios,wifi/BT switch works fine but BT is not showing under device manager. I get that on both d820 so wondering if BT is optional maybe? Update, I took it apart and found out that BT module is not there. Must have optional in this model. Which card is better DW1395 or DW1390?

Yeah I have radio enabled but not sure what model is that. Where do I find model? Also just found 2 wireless cards dell DW1395 and DW1390 at my local pc shop. Will those work well with my D820?

Im on 1.7.4 and run update via Apple menu and I get kernel panic during install. Ive noticed that it KP on security update but installed other updates. Re run update with only security update and its working fine now Last question.. Should bluetooth be working on this machine? When I go to system info, there is nothing under BT section.

No problem, left my laptop at work, will do it first thing in the moring.

It did the trick All isses resolved. Now ive got perfectly working dual boot Lion/Win7. Ive used DSDT from D620 and it fixed the problem with booting to black screen:) I have noticed that trackpad is a bit flaky at times but that something im gonna look into. I have one more question. How safe is to update OSx? is there any perffered way? Ive done update on my other d820 and get KP now. Many thanks for help

Hello, Ive installed Chameleon Wizard and reinstalled all boot loaders up to latest one and its the same.

Everything is working, just booting issue with black screen. Im going to install chameleon wizard and try to update boot file.

I have attached system report file. sys info 2.zip

Ive installed lion on my other D820 and its exactly the same issue. Booting to black screen and to get it working got to close and reopen the lid. As with the other d820 once EDP is installed and run I get black screen on boot. Any ideas what to do? Also is it safe to run update on os?

Ok just checked my Bluetooth is not working at all and graphic card has no other resolutions except native 1280x800. I haven't try to install any drivers yet. Busy day at work so I may have more time when I get back home,

Lan and audio are working perfectly fine I will check tomorrow if bluetooth is working. Left the machine at work. To carry E500 and D820 back an forth is enough Not sure if the graphic card is full woking as I cant change resolution. Its stll on native resolution and I can see it in system pref. I'll do more testing tomorrow.

From what I have niticed its most likely graphic driver issue or something with loading it. When the system boots up I can see fine apple log with osxlattitude and after a while screen gos crazy, I mean crazy, changes colors, strips along the screen, it darkens from edges to the centre and go bright the same way. Never seen anything like that and Im IT engineer and seen many wierd things. I will record that on me phone and drop you a link. Also noticed that this lid trick works every time so what efectively is happening is it go to sleep and on the wake up it loads the graphic driver correctly maybe? Trackpad is working perfectly fine until screenserver load, once screensever kicks in I loose trackpad and pointer is not moving. Again looks to me that nvidia driver may be cousing that. Not sure how to identify the problem.

Many thanks for quick reply, I have r2170 version. Strange thing is that I dont get kernel panic anymore and I havent done anything yet... Still booting to black screen and I have to do the lid trick to see my desktop. Once in the os everything seems to be working fine. There must be something wrong in EDP, before installing edp it boots up fine. Will the log from my console be any help? Update: trackpad seems to be playing up, stops working but I can click buttons, wierd.. Should I run fixes from EDP ?

noob queastion.. where do I find it? Been learning this stuff only for 5 days..

OK, all reinstalled but as soon as I install and run EDP file, after reboot I get to black screen. Can confirm that closing the lid and opening brings back my desktop. Ive deleted FileNVRAM.dylib and now its got kernel panic as soon as desktop shows and still go to black screen so have to close the lid and open again. Ive attached 2 picturs, one is before ive deleted FileNVRAM.dylib where the screen go weird on boot before gets black and other one after removing the file. Any ideas?

I have updated the system to latest version and after reboot it got screwed completely. It would load to desktop but kernel panic would show as soon as desktop loads. Anyway just reinstalled my lion and in the process of installing EDP. Will report back soon.

HI, my model spec is exact as listed below on toshiba site http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/portege-r500-10j/ My card reader is not working yet and wireless. For wireless ill get compatible card, for card reader may get drivers. Ive attached my extra folder. Extra.zip

Ive tried to boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes and No and both times I get black screen. If I close the lid and open it again my desktop pops up on my screen.

I agree, is really nice notebook to integrate and the install is very easy and straight forward. Everything is working well so I will post my extra folder with full spec on my machine in a bit.

I have NVidia card, Ive run -f on boot but get kernel panic. If I use graphicsenabler=no I get black screen. Its been working fine until Ive installed EDP so something there must go tits up. Quick update: System still boots to black screen but if I put into sleep mode and wake it up , I get my desktop. Any idea how to go about it?

Hi Guys, I have installed ML on my Toshiba Portege R500. Everything is working perfect except wireless card. Install process is very straight forward and pretty much didn't require any fixes. System runs really well and smooth, even tho its got on 1.2 ghz cpu Is there any fix or driver for Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN? or do you know any replacement that would work with this model that will work with Toshiba? Spec as follows: -Processor 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 -Memory 1GB, 667MHz DDR2 -Hard drive 120GB 5,400rpm -Chipset Intel 965 -Graphics Mobile Intel Express 950GM (integrated) -Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN -Screen size (diagonal) 12.1 inches

HI Guys, I have one more problem. After installed EDP and run Build from model database’ I can no longer boot, it was fine until Ive rebooted. I get black screen but can hear sounds when pressing keys. How can I fix it? I can still boot via usb. Many thanks for help.
