Hi, I know this hardware is off the scope of the site (which concentrates on DELL Latitude, but I got this new hardware: Fujitsu AH530, i3 380M processor, 4GB RAM, Atheros 9285, Realtek Ethernet, Intel GMA HD. I was trying different methods to install Lion / SL but always failed. I tried iFail S3 v2, I even tried the osxlatitude method usb creation, even before starting the setup, the laptop reboots on this own. I tried using busratio=19 / 20 for i3 processors, I do get through the setup with iFail (others dont work), but after I reboot again same problem and this time it doesn't even work with busratio. after going through the debug mode, I saw that AppleCPUPowerManagement is causing the problem. I cannot even get into single user mode so that i can delete or replace the kext. Please guide me with the above hardware what will be the best. I need Lion !!! thanks in advance and hope to share more information

I too faced similar situation with 10.6.8 graphics worked good for me but navigating was damn bad. even I tried options in EDP and still had the same issues. sometimes Voodoo or sometimes sleep enabler. I did get everything working fine but then slowness was quite frequent so I had to re-install as I was not even able to click on the menu!!! 10.6 retail and then 10.6.7 now system is working fine but I see a lot of over heating especially running virtual box with 2 guest. while I run linux no issues but when I run windows in VM my CPU heats up and the system shuts down. it takes around 5 mins then only I can boot up. the Hardware doesn't allow me to use power button !!! does anyone have solution for this.My fan runs all times if I slow the CPU speed then the system slows down no clicks or takes long time. Processing of images in aperture (11000 images just adding to aperture library!!!) shuts my osx. does anyone have solution for this or 10.6.8 should be used with some other settings. please guide

Back to 10.6.7 reasons: firstly sleep enabler was not working in EDP. Had to install legecy kernel and sleep enabler from nawcom. But after 2 / 3 boots my system got so slow, a snail cud win the race !!! tried re-installing several times and trying different setups. Voodoo KPs, Sleep KPs and finally decided to keep 10.6.7 with EDP 1.9 and sleep enabler for 10.6.7 from nawcom. my system is 100% Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.7 with shutdown/restart and sleep thanks to all the guys out there... but would love to see Lion on my screen. the only reason I was going ahead with 10.6.8 was to update to lion but always got "Mac OSX Lion 10.7 cannot be installed in this computer" I also changed the system definition as well as in some posts it was mentioned to use chameleon RC5 v1200 or chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) from multifail. none worked. In fact, EDP 1.9 has latest version of chameleon. do let me know if I can upgrade from 10.6.7 to lion (the copy of lion is not from Apple Store ) please let me know how can I go about it. regards Niranjan

Finally I got 10.6.8 working on my D830 T7500 @ 2.2Ghz Nvidia NVS140 with 3GB RAM. Restart / Shutdown works...didn't check sleep. installed 10.6.0 (10A432), EDP 1.9, Chemaleon from EDP, 10.6.8 combo update and reboot with -f option (was getting KP with voodoHDA). I didn't install sleep enabler from edp as it was giving me KP and everytime had to boot with pmVersion=0. (thats why I said sleep is not tested) My system shows macbook3,1 I am trying to install Lion I get an alert "mac osx 10.7 lion cannot be installed on this computer" please guide me I also tried changing the system definition to macpro3,1 no result. also found the system fast at times but then it slows down a bit. (will observe) thanks to all the guys here who have directly / indirectly helped me and many like me. regards Niranjan

Hi chris88962 can you post the steps...??? I dont know where did i miss, but I am not getting my D830/nvidia running. in fact when I do the update of 10.6.8 (backing up the required kexts) I cannot pass through no errors but the system hangs. so request you to post the steps exactly that worked for you. thanks in adv. niranjan

I got the CPU showing me 2.0Ghz thats fine but still shutdown / reboot doesn't work need to manually power off after the black screen also, I wanted to know how do I calibrate the screen for photography ? is there any specific method for D830 ? please guide.

HELLPPPPPP!!!! my mac on D830 shows CPU as 1.1Ghz ??? :( but speed is ok...I dont find it super fast nor it is slow....but why is it showing as 1.1Ghz is it really running on 1.1 ??? Hi all for your support. I have my D830 up and running with SL 10.6.7 tried a load of stuff that I even forgot !!! yesterday after several installs, I got it working but still I have issues with restart and shutdown. it doesn't happen I have to force shut by pressing the power button. also after putting 10.6.7 with EDP 1.8 I found that my ~ key is changed. rest all are same. is there any keyboard mapping or something. my ~ give is a § donno why. so if I am in the terminal and need to go to my home directory I can't do that but to open a new terminal ! all rest fine installed lightroom and aperture speed looks ok to me. will update on this more ! for the first timers here is what I did (to get the final working) 1. installed with SLD430USB.img 2. installed chameleon 2 RC5 665 3. installed EDP (which is listed in the installation tutorial) 4. rebooted with the USB still connected and selected usb at boot. when the menu appeared I selected the HDD (boot from usb and select hdd as root or else will get gray screen) 5. installed 10.6.7 combo update and rebooted 6. repeated step 4 7. installed EDP 1.8 and bingo !!!! cooling is still not so good but will check other options for that and would love to receive help from the experts. I updated to 10.6.6 no luck. then I reinstalled with the USB and updated 10.6.6 without chemaleon or edp. screwed up with thesystem now again I installed and did chem rc5 665 and EDP 1.7. installing the 10.6.7 updated. lets hope for the best will update soon

after searching a lot I got something from insanelymac this is a package for D830 (at boot I see iHack something) at least now I am able to boot from hdd. there was some difficulty with mouse and that I fixed using EDP 1.6 still have overheating system. and shutdown / restart / sleep doesn't work. If I shutdown the screen goes blank in few seconds and stays...I have to physically press the power button. Also some times the system crawls....like I click somewhere and it just shows me the wait icon !! (tiny circle of colors !!!) right now Im at office already I downloaded the combo update 10.6.6 and combo update 10.6.7 is downloading. do I put 10.6.6 or directly 10.6.7 and for each of the update which EDP would be best ? thanks in advance for all the help. regards Niranjan

tried edp 1.8 and still I get kernel panic. I will try the pmversion thing. as of now I use the usb to boot to the mac osx hdd. but cannot use the usb all the time lets see if I can get this solved.

Which edp / chameleon will work with 10.6 ? Downloads are slow at my end and until I update to 10.6.6 or 10.6.7 I wanted to start all the stuff from the wiki failed

ok will try that and do I need to update ? the SLD image is 10.6 and I am getting an update for 10.6.6 will that change any settings ? the laptop is heating up like an oven !!!!
