frikeando
Hi all, I have a 5490 with a working trackpad (no physical buttons though). There is a small lag on the trackpad movement, so for certain movements it is not exact. On the other hand, I normally use a Magic Trackpad, which works perfectly, with no lag at all. Why hey this happens and how can I correct it? Thanks in advance.
Administrators Hervé Posted April 25, 2019 Administrators Share Posted April 25, 2019 You may try the I2C kexts that are available in my Latitude 7490 guide. Got them from another thread but I already forgot which one! Oups...
frikeando
You got them from me The thing is that there is some lag with the Dell trackpad, but not with the Magic Trackpad. I tried your 7490 guide, but I get a KP when booting.
Administrators Hervé Posted April 26, 2019 Administrators Share Posted April 26, 2019 It's all to do with the I2C drivers... A Magic TrackPad will of course work perfectly, it's an Apple acessory! You really can't compare the 2 x devices when one is an Apple product and the other a PC piece of hardware that's not even meant to be supported and relies on goodwill development. frikeando
Hi again, I updated to 10.14.5 and trackpad stoped working. Does your system work?
Administrators Hervé Posted May 30, 2019 Administrators Share Posted May 30, 2019 TouchPad works, yes. Occasionally, it won't after startup and it may take a couple of reboot to get it back.
