BatteryDie2
Hey! I got E5450 with A10 BIOS today, I successfully installed Mojave after I followed guide. Yes, HD 5500 is perfectly works with 720p screen! Everything are working excepted WiFi, screen brightness control, FN button, VGA/HDMI output. Here is list issues: WiFi: I tried update AirportBrcmFixup.kext and Lilu.kext. I did copy some kexts to L/E folder from CopyToLE folder. This is DW1707 from Dell.Fixed: Bluh. DW1707 the WiFi N card is not powerful. I'm getting better DW1560 the WiFi AC card. I got WiFi AC router in home. HDMI: Noting change when I plugged HDMI port. I tried press F8 fn button where Laptop/Monitor icon is. It caused locked up system. I had cold reboot. This is Intel HD 5500. There is temporary fix issue: When I plugged HDMI then reboot my laptop. It connected my monitor but it will not re-connect my monitor if I unplugged HDMI unless reboot system.Fixed: Just flashed latest BIOS version. I can plug and unplug HDMI anytime. VGA: VGA plug will flash black screen once but monitor is not getting signal. No solve. Blame Apple. Screen Brightness: there was no issue until later screen brightness flickering started during boot until login screen. I think it happened when i changed screen brightness first time by press down screen brightness button before reboot.Fixed: I rested BIOS setting. They stopped screen brightness flickering. I think BIOS did set 100% screen brightness for AC to fixed it. If you set 99% screen brightness on AC and Battery, then screen brightness will start flickering until login. You can press up screen brightness button on Clover loader before boot macOS. Screen Brightness Control: Down button is working on F6 key but Up button F7 is not working. They are wrong placed FN keys. Real F11 and F12 button have icon sun. Fixed: Remapped buttons on System Preference's Keyboard. Now I can control Brightness on F11 and F12 without Karabiner-Elements and other third party software. Please see this screenshot: Here is attached zipped EFI file. macOS version is 10.14.5 right now. Boot took 1 min on SSD. It is way slower than my 2012 lenovo desktop with same SSD brand as my laptop's SSD. CLOVER.zip Edited July 1, 2019 by BatteryDie2 Updated topic. Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 19, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 19, 2019 Wifi DW1707 - See here, not recommended, limited support. Better option is DW1560 HDMI - should work OOB, post debug file with HDMI connected, F8 is a Windows function, won't work in OSX. VGA - not supported Brightness Control - See post install here as suggested in the linked guide
BatteryDie2
Brightness Control issue is resolved now. Thanks! Edit: Brightness Control has stopped working after I am trying run debug tool but karabiner-element is still running where sound control button are fine too. Edit2: I tried reboot laptop but Brightness Control do still not works. Sound control button is fine. I changed to apple_display_brightness_XXXXXX from display_brightness_XXXXXX but nothing changes. They freeze system for few seconds when i spammed press F11 and F12 button. Let's see what I do with DW1707 later because it said yes on Mojave with patch. I don't realize it don't have AC. Let's better focus debug tool for HDMI now. I am having issue with debug tool after I entered password: MacBook-Pro:~ jones$ /Users/jones/Desktop/install_tools.sh Installing debug report generator.... Checking your internet connection.... BatteryDie2
Someone told me debug was blocked by security. I disabled SIP to run debug tool. Here is attached file. debug_31852.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 19, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 19, 2019 You're missing AppleBacklightFixup.kext DW1707 is the same as an AR9565 Quote 1 AR946x (168c,34), AR9485 (168c,32) and AR9565 (168c,36) work to some degree (i.e. not 100%) with alternative (re-written) Atheros40 driver as posted at InsanelyMac by Chunnann. Further patching facility posted here. These cards appear very poorly supported to plain unsupported from High Sierra. They are NOT recommended. Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 20, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 20, 2019 Latest version of Whatevergreen v1.2.9 is causing reboot issue with sleep on my system. Try reverting to 1.2.8 I'm assuming the slider works in display preference if you move it with you mouse?
BatteryDie2
I don't have issue with sleep for over 3 hours. I am on 1.3.0 version of WhateverGreen. P.S. I saw Sleep button (Moon icon) is caused system go shut down after I pressed it with fn (they meant hibernate button?). I'll use sleep menu from Apple Menu and closing lid of laptop are good enough for me. Yes, slider on display preference is working perfectly 100%. Smooth.
