herodionus
I've noticed that using the guide on this website for the Mojave installation, the trackpad is quite jittery in scrolling. Ive also found that this appears to be a common issue. System preferences does not detect the trackpad even though it still works. Ive tried installing the VoodooPS2Controller kext, however that did not fix the issue. Is there another kext that must be deleted? I can not seem to find a kext in Library/Extensions that seems to relate to the trackpad. Thanks in advance
Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 6, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 6, 2019 What kext are you using? The Alps kext VoodooPS2ControllerR6 does not support newer version very well, jittery as you noticed. Rehabman's VoodooPS2Controller is for Synaptics, does not support Alps either. The best kext I had use for this model is ApplePS2Controller.kext found in my bootpack. It does not show in touchpad preference but it works very well. With Smartscroll.app, you'll have full function with the track stick and scrolling with the middle button.
