camley88
Thought I would ask this group this question. I have a D620 with OsX installed. I installed iStats which gives me up to date information in my menu bar. The peak download speed I get is usually 120-130KB/s. My internet connection is much faster than that. Why is mine so slow? Is that the max on a wireless signal? Thanks
Administrators Leon Posted January 28, 2011 Administrators Share Posted January 28, 2011 I can depend on alot of things... 1. What kind of wireless card do you have 2. What kind of accesspoint do you connect to 3. Use network utility to see what speed you are connected to.. and post the results here...

Administrators Leon Posted January 29, 2011 Administrators Share Posted January 29, 2011 Allright, your airport extreme support N network, right now your are only using G network - so if i were you, i would upgrade your network card (its a small card you can upgrade under the keyboard) with a better one.. Check this out... http://www.osxlatitude.com/groups/d4xosx/wiki/98753/Rebranding_Broadcom_80211abgn_Cards_as_Airport.html Here is a list of network cards that work good with OSX and that you can rebrand so that OSX think its made by apple.. Go for a Broadcom BCM4321 card .. they usualy cost like 20$ from Ebay
