Dell Inspiron 15 5547 - High Sierra - no hibernation

Recommended Posts

Hi. I installed Mac OS High Sierra on my laptop. Everything works perfectly except sleeping. After closing the lid, the computer turns off the screen but does not go to sleep. Similarly, if I select the "Sleep" function from the menu.

After several minutes of "sleeping" when I try to wake it up, it reboots.
I attach my files from the EFI partition.

Please help me in solving the problem.

Your Clover is a bit of a mess. Delete the following:

drivers64UEFI - the whole folder

Delete under kexts/Other:

  • AppleBacklightFixup.kext
  • IntelGraphicsDVMTFixup.kext
  • FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext

Update these kexts:

  • USBInjectAll.kext
  • VoodooPS2Controller.kext

Remove one or the other, can't have both:

  • VoodooPS2Controller.kext
  • ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext

Disable Hibernation via terminal:

  • sudo pmset hibernatemode 0
  • sudo rm -f /var/vm/sleepimage
  • sudo pmset hibernatefile /dev/null

In BIOS, disable the following:

Wake on LAN

Wake on WLAN

Wake on WWAN

Wake on USB

OK, I made all changes but everything is still the same as before.

Should I install some kexts from Clover/kext/Other/ to LE or SLE?

I attach my actual Clover folder:

Can you run this, save, compress and attach it?

What version of BIOS are you running?

The DSDT/SSDT in your files are static so it might need to be re Patch if different than the version the files are patched for.

Boot to Clover, at the GUI, press F4.

Continue booting to MacOS, mount EFI

Compress and attach /EFI/Clover/ACPI/Origin folder here for patching

Ok, I attach files from Clover with ACPI/origin and ioregexprer. BIOS is A10.

Meanwhile I noticed that the Sleep command from the Apple menu has now started working. However, it does not work after closing the lid and after automatic sleep after a certain time (fans and disk are active).

I replaced all files, but nothing has changed. The only thing I noticed is that after disconnecting the power supply, the screen dims.
