PCMCIA Firewire on D620

I've tried other kexts, reported operational under Lion, but no success. Whilst these PCMCIA kexts fully support the Cardbus card, they always cause loss of Wireless.

So, this is still an open matter being worked on.

Meantime, the above kext can be used as an awkward workaround, but not a permanent solution. At least on Lion. It probably works ok on Kurt's SL 10.6.1. Kurt, could you confirm?

Hello-

I used Kext Wizard to install the kext to S/L/E then repaired the permissions and cache. This had no effect at all. When I go into system profiler there is nothing recognized at all.

Is there another procedure that I need to try to install it?

Thanks

KF

What model of card is that? Must be fairly old if it states Mac OS 8.6... That's going back a few good years to PPC-based Macs.

Syba ..cant really get a model number but the lame paperwork states:

Search for DL code 310301 and 310401 on Download or Serach Engine for any USB and 1394a driver update availability.

Possibly one of those numbers above is the model number.

thanks

KF

I just copied the kext to /S/L/E and run myFix (full) to repair permissions before rebooting. Nothing to lose by trying that instead of Kext Wizard...
